I couldn't get the feeling of being watched out of my head. My whole body was tense. I couldn't sleep last night so I had to take a sleeping pill.
Kenny came to my room last night crying because she had a dream that I went missing. I held in my tears so I didn't scare her. It was painful to sit there and watch Kenny cry when in a month I would be gone.
Who would watch Kenny? Who would take my place as her sister? I couldn't stomach the idea of someone else calling them Kenny's sister.
Kenny was so fragile at times that I had to watch what I would say to her. She was only ten years old and homeschooled along with the other kids in the neighborhood.
I remember being homeschooled. It was the best thing ever. I could go to the park whenever I wanted but if course mom would turn it into a lesson about science.
I called Tenn, my best friend. This green bunny was getting on my last nerves. It made me nervous to know tbat something weird was going on. Renn answered on the first call her voice sounding croaky.
"Is the little Renn sick" I joked jumping onto my bed. Renn made a clucking sound with her mouth. "I am slightly sick missy" Renn began clearing her throat. "What do you want". I laughed at Renn's impatience voice. "I saw something in the woods two days ago"
I could hear Renn lean forward Olin her chair. "What did you see" Renn asked. "I...I saw a green bunny" I stammered. "All cool a green bunny..their so cool...wait we don't have green bunnies around here"
"I know Renn" I said latching onto my pillow. "So what was this green bunny doing in the woods" I shrugged then felt stupid knowing she couldn't see.
"I don't know what it was doing here" I cried "but it was weird and really fuzy" Renn cleared her voice. "Did you tell the Research Director or no". I told Renn no. "If the Research Director found out they would be in the woods twenty four seven and bothering me"
Renn laughed and said "hey it's better to be safe than sorry" I laughed. "I'll call you later Renn okay" I said into the phone feeling hungry. She said goodbye then hung up the phone.
I grabbed a snack from the fridge and walked to the computer in the living room ready to learn about green bunnies.
