Albus
After being within Project NUKE, I decided that I would go off to the DSD, probably they had the answers of the killings. I made my way to the golden tube, giving Jason one last look before stepping in. The air pulled me apart and put me back together as I arrived at the DSD headquarters.
People were swarming around as usual when I entered the building. I felt a feeling of deep regret of being at the Project NUKE check-up earlier, but nonetheless, made my way to the silver tube and flew up to my office floor. I had luckily a different set of clothes under my lab coat, taking my lab coat off and made my way into my office. I tossed it on a sofa, only to turn to find Quinn sitting at my desk. I jumped, stepping back and tripped on one of my carelessly left stacks of books. I then gracefully fell on the ground-- just kidding, I sort of fell on my back, definitely graceful.
Quinn stiffed a laugh, the familiar brown hair and brown eyes that she and her younger sister shared made me sigh. "When were you going to tell me that you worked for the DSD?" I managed to give her an exasperated look, and she giggled again. "You're too clumsy to work, no offense, Albus." I sighed, standing up and pushed my books to a corner of my office.
"Quinn." I managed to say, making my way over to her desk. "I saw Angela today." I gulped, knowing that Quinn cared quite a bit for her sister.
The older girl's lips pulled into a frown, standing up abruptly and spoke bitterly. "Are you two... secretly going out?"
I made a face, rolling my eyes. "No, Quinn. Angela's only eleven, she's not... ah, my type." I managed to say as she sighed. "I also work for Project NUKE, and she works for the lab department. She seems... to be doing fine."
"Fine for a blind person." Quinn sighed, sitting down on my couch. I made my way next to her, plopping down. "I over heard the news today, Jane Boone and Abelina Johnson dead along with their body guards."
I nodded as she pulled up the picture of the possible killer. "Doesn't this one seem... familiar to you, by any chance?"
"Yeah," I managed to say, turning away, "Did you know Jane or Abelina, by any chance? They worked for your parents."
Quinn managed a small smile before nodding sadly. "Jane was tutor when I was younger, and Abelina was a friend of mine. I was... close with them, but their deaths are... odd. I think the Dictator plotted their deaths."
I sighed, pulling out my phone and showed her the picture of the short message that haunted me. Beware. If you are against The Dictator. You will be next. Quinn took my phone, analyzing the message. "We'll be next? Like the DSD have been given a warning."
"I believe so. We were sent the same note earlier with no return address. The Dictator doesn't know our individual identities, but he does know our headquarters location." Quinn sighed, resting her head on my shoulder. "Hopefully I die after twenty, hmm?"
I managed a small smile, pain in my eyes, but it was the world we were in. We couldn't do anything about it. "Are Ronan or Cece in the DSD by any chance?"
"No." Quinn lifted her head, "They might be in the organizations that work for the Dictator though."
I let out a short breath and let my hands grab my lab coat, pulling out a frisbee that I had modified. Instead of a regular frisbee, it was an explosive chainsaw frisbee. It... blew up on the fourth impact, and the chain blades would come out after the frisbee was airborne. If one of the guards had his guts all over, the killer must have used my invention. I felt bile rising in my throat, flipping my frisbee over in pain. My own very invention was used to kill someone. I meant it as a part of a death obstacle course... for fun, you know?
"The killer has to be someone within the DSD. Who else would have my invention?" Quinn shrugged, standing up abruptly.
"We've got work today. Shoot!" I cursed under my breath, how could I be so stupid? Quinn took my hand, dragging me out of my office. "Let's go to work then. See if we can find any info about the killer from the Dictator." I nodded mutely as I let her drag me out and to the side of a wall. Quinn pushed the wall, shoving me into a golden tube, the world swirling around me as my vision went dark.
