Phil's P.O.V-
A bright figure emerged out of the door as soon as I pulled into Dan's driveway.
Okay.
Wait.
What.
Dan had....pastel....pink....hair....
That was new.
He was grinning widely as he hopped into my car. He was dressed in a whit button up shirt with the sleeves rolled hallway up, a dark pair of skinny jeans, and a pair of cute, black combat boots. Oh, and did I mention that his hair was pushed back? Yeah, he was breath-taking.
I immediately felt under dressed in my simple, blue plaid shirt and skinny jeans. "Hey!" He exclaimed, shutting the car door. "Uh, he-hey." I stuttered, my cheeks heating as I took in his beauty. Dan quickly pecked my lips and said, "I like your shirt. It looks amazing on you; really brings out your eyes."
"Thanks." I muttered. "That is..some hair color." I blurted out, recognizing the elephant in the room. Dan cocked his head to the side. "Do you not like it?"
"Oh, of course I do! It looks great, babe. I just didn't expect you to...do that to it. It's beautiful, nonetheless."
Dan smiled. "Now all you have to do is dye your hair blue and we'll be a perfect couple!" Dan exclaimed happily. I laughed and shook my head. "I've had it blue before and I already dye it black all the time, I don't want to damage it anymore."
"You dye your hair?!"
"Mhm. My natural color is red. I'm a ginger. I'm basically Ron Weasley." I joked. Dan laughed sweetly and said, "I'm going to have to see your natural hair, then." I furrowed my eyebrows as if in disbelief that he would even make such a suggestion.
"Oh, don't give me that look! It would totally be cute on you!" Dan practically squealed. I sighed and said, "Anything for my pastel prince."
Dan's cheeks reddened and he hid his face in his hands. "Why do you do this to me?" He mumbled, clearly still embarrassed at the nickname. "I'm sorry, my beautiful prince, do what exactly?" I continued, making him even more flustered.
"Make my heart do the flippy thing."He mumbled even quieter this time. My eyes enlarged and I bit my lip, trying to suppress the blush threatening to emerge on my pale cheeks. "You do it to me, too." I answered quietly after a few minutes of silent driving. We were soon to arrive at the dinner I had set up and I wanted to get any awkwardness out of the air.
"Really?" Dan asked in disbelief. "I didn't think I had that effect of you, I am a bit lame truthfully." I nodded my head. "You're too cute not to have that effect on my, doll. I mean, you should have seen my reaction when you stepped out of the door. Which, mind you, was a bit rude of you to do because I wanted to go knock on your door and get you and such. Anyway, that's besides the point. When you stepped out of the door, I am about one hundred percent sure my heart stopped because I stopped breathing when I looked at you. You literally made me breathless. You're just so...beautiful...Is it weird to call a guy beautiful?" I finished, feeling odd because I felt as though I rambled too much.
"I like being called beautiful, it makes me feel important." Dan stated without hesitation. "And thank you, you're really sweet, Phil. It means a lot to me to even be going to dinner with you. I still can't believe that you of all people had interest in me."
"I've liked you for a long time. This is a bit weird, but when you first moved into the shop, I couldn't keep my eyes off of you. You were mesmerizing. It didn't particularly make my customers happy, but it was worth it in my eyes. You were so--Sorry, I don't want to be all cheesy and such, I'll stop there." I laughed, feeling my heart quicken as I realized that me talking like this probably made Dan think I was a huge teddy bear.
Dan groaned. 'But I wanted to hear more!"
I shook my head. "We're here, though. We have to get a table and such." Dan pouted and whined, "Can I hear more over dinner?" Rolling my eyes playfully, I agreed. "You can't make fun of me, though. It's a bit childish and lame, it'll make you think I'm not very hardcore."
"I get it, you're a nerd and I'm more hardcore than you, dork. Okay, okay! I'm too excited, can we go in now?!" Dan exclaimed in childish ecstasy. "Rude, I think you hurt my feelings." I faked a sob, putting my hands over my heart. "Noooooo! I'm sorry I didn't mean it you are totally manly and hardcore and you could beat a bear up and radadad. Is that good enough, darling? Or do you need me to be tied to a railroad for you to save me?"
I smiled brightly and joked, "Would you?" Dan scoffed, 'Get out of the car with your masculinity and such, I'm starving." We both laughed and hopped out of the car.
When we got into the restaurant, the waiter's eyes fell on my harshly, as in disbelief that they could even let me approach the establishment. I saw how his gaze slowly licked up my body and it's tattoo-laden skin. I shifted uncomfortably as his sight lingered longer and longer on me. Luckily, Dan coughed awkwardly and got his attention. "Excuse me." He said harshly. "If you could keep your eyes off of my boyfriend for a few seconds, we would like a table, thank you." He stated, glaring at the waiter fiercely. The waiter nodded, a bit shocked, and asked, "Two?"
"Yes, unless you and your judgement wanted to join and make it four." Dan sassily replied. I could see the waiter's face tighten as he fought the urge to say something back, but he just replied, "Right this way, Sirs." And so he led us to our table and left us by ourselves.
"The nerves of some people." Dan scoffed. "I can't believe you just said that to him." I said in awe. "The way he was looking at you up and down. I couldn't tell if he wanted to kick you out or fuck you against the wall. Either way, it made me sick."
"I only saw judgement." I said weakly, trying not to go red at his statement or use of swear words. Dan shook his head. "No, there was a hint of lust there, I saw it. Anyway, that's besides the point, I think he knows better than to try that again. You're taken, anyway." Dan finished smugly. I admired his confidence, honestly. I would have never been able to be that snarky with someone.
"And you are right with that. I guess that makes it official then?" I said. Dan nodded. "Okay, now continue with your story."
And so I did. The whole night was filled with laughter and anecdote. I couldn't have asked for a better date, honestly. Throughout it, we both got flirtier and flirtier, getting a bit more daring with every line we spoke. The sexual tension between us built rapidly, for lack of a better statement. I could see how needy we had become for each other. It was like we were teenagers again. We held our composure though. Until, at the end of the night, whilst I was dropping Dan off, he invited me inside.
