Phils P.O.V-

We sat down in our booths, letting silence momentarily wash over us as we got settled.

"So-" I started off awkwardly. "You look nice today, though in all honesty, you always seem to look nice." I said, a subtle red hue spreading across my cheeks. Dan looked down and formed a goofy grin. "Thank you." He muttered, bringing his hands up to his face and covering his hands with his sleeves.

"Has anyone ever mention how cute your smile was?" I asked him, feeling daring as to what I was saying to him. He shook his head and lifted his head up slowly and made eye contact with me.

His eyes were a brilliant shade of brown and had gold specks in them. Those eyes seemed to lift my spirits, made me happy. He, as a person, seemed to make me happy.

Lunch seemed to go by rather quickly, with all the endless chatter and questions we exchanged, it felt barely 5 minutes.

"Weird question- what's your favorite color?" Dan asked me out of nowhere while we awaited our food. I thought for a second before replying, "Blue. What's yours?"

Dan looked at me awkwardly before muttering, "Black.."

"Black? Your favorite color is black? That's not even a color, it's a-"

"It's a shade, I know. But I honestly don't care, it's my favorite. I just wish that Id wear more of it rather than these bright clothes." He said, pulling at his clothes. I shook my head. "I like your bright clothes, they're cute and I think they suit you."

He gave me a look of appreciation before saying, "Yeah, I suppose they do. But they're not me..I'm not just flowers and pastel...but people don't usually realize that.." His words trailed off.

So there was more to him..

"So, what are you then? Are you secretly hardcore and metal? ARE YOU SECRETLY A NINJA?!" I playfully joked. He laughed and shook his head. "Sadly, no. I wish I were because that would be fucking amazing." He admitted. I gave him a disapproving look because of his language but let it slide.

"No but seriously, if you're not what you look like, what are you like?" I asked, genuinely curious.

Dan shrugged his shoulders before responding, "That's the thing- I don't know what I am. A part of me wants to be what I look like but another one wants to be like you- hardcore, coo-"

"I'm not hardcore." I told him.

He gave me a look of disbelief. "But the tattoos and the all dark clothes. For fucks sake, Phil, you look scary as hell. That's pretty hardcore."

"Much like you, I'm the same way. This is just my cover. Honestly, I think we should switch looks because my personality actually suits your look and apparently yours suits mine."

"You can't be serious. You can't actually mean that your personality is like this..this bright stuff?"

I nodded before taking a sip of my drink that had just arrived. "Huh...who would've thought.." Dan muttered.

"I could honestly say the same to you, though." I admitted. "You do not strike me as the type that would be into the black clothing and tattoos-"

"Well, I still don't really like tattoos but I see your point." Dan interrupted.

"You don't like tattoos?" I asked, getting a bit offended. It was silly to do so but that was my profession. It was who I am.

"Oh no, that's not what I meant! Tattoos are cool and I think they look amazing, especially on you, but I wouldn't get one." He said. I rolled my eyes and sent a smile his way.

"Honestly, my first tattoo was a pain. It was the Origin of Symmetry album art and that was the most horrendous experience I've had in my life. It was worse than getting my ears gauged and that hurts a bit..though you know that.." My words trailed off as I noticed how Dan had gauges too, yet they were smaller. "Your gauges are cute." I added, a slight blush appearing on my cheeks as I did so.

"Thank you. And hold on- did I hear you right?! You have a Muse album tattooed on you?!" Dan exclaimed.

"You know Muse?!?!" I asked in astonishment.

"Of course I do! They're my favorite band!" Dan told me.

"Really?! That's amazing! They're mine too! I didn't expect you to listen to them..not a lot of people do."

"Are you kidding me? Of course I do! And who would you think I listen to- Kanye West? Well, you'd be right."

"Kanye West?" I asked in a teasing manner.

"Yeah, man! He's like a god in the rap game. I just wish people viewed his music more so than his personality.." He condoned in me. I nodded and raised an eyebrow. Wow, he was such a character.

"Anywayyyyy.." Dan laughed. "Are you going back to work after this?" He continued.

I shrugged my shoulder. "I don't know, I don't have anymore scheduled costumers." I said.

"Great!" He exclaimed. "Do you want to go to the park with me?"
