ACT ONE
SCENE ONE
FADE IN:
START EXT. HOUSE PARTY – 2 AM
Deep in the Redlands sits a massive house where hundreds of people are celebrating.
START INT. HOUSE PARTY – BACKYARD, KEG AREA – 2 AM
Around the house tons of people are drinking beer, taking shots, making out with one another, and doing different drugs.
SHAW, 20, he has brown eyes, pulled back brown hair, a scrubby brown beard. He's drenched in beer, and liquor (his hair/face/body is wet). He's wearing a white dress shirt, and a black pair of pants.
Shaw is in front of a keg, tap in hand he pours himself a beer, and downs it moments later. He looks up at the sky, his eyes make him seem as if he's a hallowed out soul, so ghostly. He looks back at the tap, grabs it, and pours another drink. Before he could drink his beer a woman grabs his arm and pulls his body towards her.
She slaps his left cheek with tremendous force.
Shaw is shocked, but somehow still locked inside his mind.
The woman has long black hair with light brown eyes and tan skin. She's as thin as she is angry. She's yelling at him, but Shaw stays quiet.
INSIDE SHAW'S MIND
"I'm guessing Kim finally told her we had slept together. Women always seem to figure out everything huh."
Shaw thoughts continue as he examines her expressions.
INSIDE SHAW'S MIND
"I do feel a little guilty, Diana would have made a great girlfriend, but I do recall telling her that this could never be in the state I'm in."
DIANA
"Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
Diana said angrily.
SHAW
"Who's really to blame here?"
Diana's anger triples. She slaps his left cheek again.
DIANA
"How dare you! I can't believe they were all right about you. "
A few tears begin to run down Diana's face.
DIANA
"You're just an illusionist, casting false spells of love."
She chuckles but you can tell they're sarcastic.
DIANA
"I can't believe I feel for your cheap parlor tricks."
Diana storms off.
SHAW
"Huh. That comment was supposed to stay in my head. Whoops."
He snickers a bit.
Shaw looks down at the beer in his hand for a few moments and then pours it on the floor. He then proceeds to walk out of the party.
Shaw pulls out a packet of cigarettes, puts one of the cigarettes in his mouth, and then throws the rest of the pack on the floor. He pulls his lighter out of his pocket but then notices a woman sitting on his cars front left fender.
He grins very wide.
SHAW
"Hey Sophia."
Sophia looks at Shaw and smiles.
