ACT TWO
SCENE ONE
FADE IN:
START EXT. APARTMENT COMPLEX – 1 PM
We enter the apartment complex of our main character. The complex is beside a narrow lake, near the turnpike exit.
START INT. APARTMENT COMPLEX – BEDROOM ONE – 1 PM
Within one of the apartment bedrooms lays our main character. His room is like most, but there are some major differences. He has three white walls; the fourth is black with words written on it by some sort of chalk. At his desk sits an old grey typewriter surrounded by beer bottles.
Shaw opens his eyes and stares at the ceiling. Long ago Shaw would wake up and search for the time but not anymore.
After awhile Shaw finally gets up from his bed and looks around his room. He grabs a bag that had been lying around and begins to throw all of his empty beer bottles into it. After he cleans up his room he grabs a towel and heads to the shower.
Shaw undresses and reveals his tattoos. He has a symbol on his left bicep that you can't quite make out without looking up close, and a pirate ship being attacked by a squid looking monster on his left shoulder.
Shaw jumps in the shower and turns on the water and the overhead. He does not say a word or even think about a single subject, he just stands there as the water cleanses his body and soul. After twenty minutes of standing still he begins to lather his body with soap, and then scrubbed his skin hard.
After another twenty minutes of scrubbing his skin he stands back in the water and lets the liquid wash away the bubbles. Shaw turns off the water, dries himself with his towel, and then covers the bottom of his body with the towel. He jumps out of the shower and walks towards the bathroom mirror. Shaw wipes the fog off the mirror and his eyes meet each other.
Shaw couldn't help but notice how bright and lively his eyes were. He hadn't seen this much life in a very long time. He then remembers a time when his eyes were beyond dull.
FADE OUT.
SCENE TWO
FADE IN:
START EXT. RESIDENTIAL HOME – 9 PM
A busted home in even worse shape than the neighborhood it resides within.
START INT. RESIDENTIAL HOME – BASEMENT – 9 PM
Inside the basement of the run down home sits our main character.
SHAW, 19, he has brown eyes, pulled back brown hair, a clean face. He's wearing a navy blue T-Shirt, and a black pair of pants.
Shaw wipes some dirt off a mirror in the basement to see his reflection. His eyes are dull now, so lifeless.
INSIDE SHAW'S MIND
"They say the way to a persons soul is through their eyes. Mine are dull, so does that mean I have no soul."
The basement door opens, and interrupts Shaw's thoughts. Shaw pulls out a colt .45 and points it at the intruder.
MAN
"WOAH! WOAH! It's me man."
Shaw lowers the gun, and the man comes out of the shadows.
The man has a shaven head and a thick, long beach. He's wearing a white tank top and a pair of jeans.
