Moving Forward

The first guard comes back heading in from outside.

"Nothing Ma'am, I couldn't find her out there." he looks at the ground, they always hated to have me upset, I never got that.

He's got a tall bulky frame making him a good guard, he's had to step in a few times with the girls, and I've never met a rowdier group. He's not old, probably only a few years older than me, good looking, which the girls love to look at.

"It's okay, Ashby, she probably went the other way. Thank you for checking." I give him a small smile and he beams, then looks away with a bright red blush creeping up his neck. It's cute.

The other guard, this one the definitely not a woman as I requested, comes running down the hall from the opposite direction, from the bathrooms.

"Sorry Miss. She's not in the ladies room, and we couldn't find a free female to look," He looks down ashamed, "Their all very busy." He tries explaining.

"That's okay, River, anyone is fine. But if she's not down either hall where the Hell is she?"

I turn to Callie. "You said she went to the back door, yes?"

She actually smiles. Bitch. "Yes, that's what I said isn't it? Or don't you believe me?" Now she's just being irritating.

I swear to God next time I'll do a men's line so I don't have to put up with this crap.
Girls are too much trouble and drama and I am just over their petty arguments.

"Okay, Two, Fawn, where are you? You are going to have to go first. We just have to start without her."

"But, I'm... Not... Meant... To... Go... First. This isn't fair, just because she bailed does not mean I should have to be first!" That's it.

"Okay, Listen here all of you, we have about half a minute to get someone on that stage! Someone will have to go first! Now, either I get a volunteer or I will have to pick and I will have no more arguments over it! Am I clear, ladies?"

I get a round of snippy 'Crystal' replies. I could care less.

"Any volunteers?" Silence, for the first time ever, there is not a sound.

"Okay I'll choose." I scan the room looking for my victim.

That's when I set eyes upon the figure moving in from side stage, the only place that is out of bounds to them. As the figure moves closer I realise it's my first, Julia.

"Julia!? Is that you? Where have you been? You are due on stage right now. Are you ready? I don't care, get out there. The order is back to normal girls, get in position." Okay so that was mean but we're running behind schedule and I have no more patience.

My first is a beautiful piece, a tight bronze sequined dress that stops about half way down the thigh, with a piece of bronze satin wrapped around the waist that flows out to the sides and down the back. Julia's light olive complexion complements the bronze perfectly, finishing the look off with some gold strappy heels and a gold thick bracelet.

All the girls are in order, we are finally ready and I have a moment to realise it's time, no more distractions.

"And now for the moment you've all been waiting for, the reason you all showed up tonight, Angels Attitude." A round of applause as Julia moves from behind the curtain and starts to prance her way down the walk.

Murmurs, Claps, a few whistles. All good feedback, she looks stunning, they all do and I'm beyond proud. Even if I don't act like it. This is going to be an amazing, unforgettable night. For everyone.
