Emir And Feriha - The Journey Continues

Emirs conversation with zehra touched a discordant chord within him. That silence between them was reminiscent of those days when he was wounded. The wound quite deep, that wouldn't heal. His anger was difficult to contain and this mother bore it all for her daughter. He wasn't aware of such love, he wasn't aware of feriha's love. The unconditional love, he saw here, he hadn't known or experienced before.
He was sifting through his shirts again and again,still mulling over the past and his phone rang. He was jolted back to reality and he shirked away the sleeve of the shirt he held in his hand and picked up the phone lying on bed.
" emir!"
"Yes mom"
" I wanted to remind you that we are expecting you to today's dinner"
Emir closed his eyes and realised he had forgotten the invitation "mom"
Aysun knew that tone, he had indeed forgotten, "I know you are busy, but we will wait for you" she tried to sound understanding.
Emir consented "alright, I might get a bit late"
"we will wait. Bye"
"Bye bye"

Koray and gulsum:

When Kaan saw koray, he ran to hug his father. Gulsum followed him, walking slowly behind him. Zehra waited behind the door. She accompanied gulsum, because she thought she might need her. She was meeting koray after divorce for the first time and that won't be easy for her. Koray picked up Kaan and hugged him tightly. His eyes became moist, he had missed him a lot. Hugging him, he felt peaceful. He saw gulsum and greeted her. He kept Kaan down and asked gulsum to come to park.
Zehra watched them walking towards park and went back in.
While walking towards the park, koray was talking to Kaan all the while.
Koray sat on the bench and said to Kaan "why don't you play in the park" and Kaan ran in the park. Gulsum had sensed that koray had something to tell her and her instinct was screaming loudly to her that the fact she feared for so long was going to come true.
"Gulsum" said koray " I am marrying hande at the end of next week" gulsum's throat dried on hearing his words." I wanted to tell you before you heard from somebody else. I also want you to help me prepare Kaan for this. I know it won't be easy for him, but Kaan is really important for me and I am sure you understand that" gulsum could say nothing but nod in agreement. Her heart was crying, eyes welling up but she managed to suppress it. She was flushing and her hands trembling. She knit both the hands together in a tight grip. She knew it all along that hande would take her place. But hearing that koray and hande are marrying wasn't as she had imagined. Perhaps she wasn't prepared to accept it, but she had been trying to do that ever since their divorce got formalised. There is always a difference in preparing and facing it. It's tough facing it. Koray kept looking at Kaan playing in the park all along.

Emir:

Emir in the evening went to his moms house. He played with Can for sometime and then while his mom was busy doing all the dinner arrangements he sat with Unal for a glass of drink.
"So how is it going?"
"Going good"
"A lot of your employees have left I have heard"
"Yes, and I have replaced them as well. I got a good sales and marketing asst. manager, he is brimming with ideas"
Unal nodded while sipping his drink " that is nice, you should work on your marketing strategies"
" I am planning to rework on most of the departments so it's kind of going to be renovated. We will be shutting down for sometime"
" always remember, to retain your top position you have to work harder than to gain it. Because now your competition is with yourself." Emir listened intently, "why did you lose Hills to me?"
"You will learn that soon" Unal patted his shoulder and beckoned him to go to the dinning table. Emir drank the last sip and kept the empty glass on the table and followed Unal to dining table.

After reaching home, he called feriha
" good evening" said feriha
"How is your day going?"
"Good, but you sound a bit different"
"Do I? But I am fine"
"You are thinking something"
"How do you catch me"
Feriha laughed " I know it"
"Yes who else but you would know"
Feriha grew silent, emir said " this is what happens when you are not with me. I want you to be around me all the time"
"I would be soon, but why are you talking so"
" I like it that way, every growing day i am longing for you more and more"
Feriha's heart whirled with emotions on hearing that "emir, I love you"
"I love you too"
