✨Kodi✨

Noah and I just played around on our phones until the three other additions to our group arrived.

Junior, Winnie, and my bestie, Avery.

Junior was another meat-head jock but that was my brother from another mother and whenever I had a guy that wouldn't leave me alone, I could always count on him to save me. It was rare to find him without Noah or vice versa.

Winnie was honestly one of the most beautiful, chocolate girls I had ever seen. Her skin radiated a natural glow that didn't require makeup. She rocked her own style and didn't care what anyone thought of her. She was great at listening, which was a hard quality to find nowadays.

Last but definitely not least, my bestie, Avery. We met in the 3rd grade and bonded over how cute all the 5th grade boys were. We've been best friend s ever since.

" Kodi Dion Hampton! Why the hell I tried calling you last night and it went straight to voicemail?" He said as he sat down next to me.

" I was in one of my moods. Didn't want to bum you out. I know you was probably with Carter yesterday." He reached into his bag and brought out some pizza wrapped in aluminum foil. Without even offering me none, he bit into it.

" Yeah me and Carter went out last night and he brought one of his friends. I called you, we could have made it a double date thing." He said still eating the pizza, knowing how much I love cold pizza.

"Last time I went out with one of Carters friend he tried to feel me up he backseat. Uh-uh. Never again." Avery's  'boyfriend' Carter was in college. So naturally he had college friends. This man was 21  and why he wanted to fuck around with a senior in high school was beyond me. It was no secret he sold drugs as well.  Avery's scary ass never wanted to go out alone with him. So I usually went with him on their dates.

"This one looked like he was nice. Any ways here, saved you a piece." Avery said handing me the last piece of pizza out of the aluminum foil.

" Thanks, boo. But you ok? Carter was a gentleman last night right?" He was a grown man who some times wanted to do grown things. And when Avery didn't want to Carter would cuss him out and call him a child.

" Yeah, we ended  up going back to his place and watching some Netflix."

"Yeah, sure that's all y'all did." I said sarcastically then turned to look at Winnie and Junior who sat down at the table and didn't say anything to me. "Well, good morning to y'all two."

Winnie, who obviously didn't get enough sleep last night, just threw up two fingers in a 'salute' gesture. And laid her head back down on her arms.

Junior looked at Noah then me and said," Yo, what's up with you? You had my boy, Noah going crazy last night. Is your phone broke or something? You don't  receive calls?" Anytime I didn't answer my phone they all got like this. But anytime, I called one of them and they didn't answer, it was ok.

How that work?

"I was really in my feelings last night. Unless y'all wanted to listen to some sad ass Drake, y'all was lucky I didn't answer." I replied. Everybody chuckled at that and then the bell rung, letting us know it was time for class.
