As I got closer to the wind master I realized the wind was circling around him, he must be extremely powerful to have wind just casually move around him as he sits there meditating. He wore the same armour as the others, except his was silver. He stopped meditating and got up and the wind returned to normal.
"Hello young master, any questions before we begin?" He asked in a friendly tone.
"Hmm, how long have you guys been doing these exams?" I asked the wind master.
"Roughly around 1500 years, could be more, could be less, but it should be close." He answered.
"Whoa! That's long, how have you lived that long?" I asked the master.
"We are dead. We have been for the majority of that time."
"But you guys aren't like the other ghosts!
"That's because we are different in a way. We still have our human forms."
"Why?" I asked
"It seems your the curious type." spoke the wind master
"I am." I responded
"Then allow to me explain some of our history, we were once ninjas like you, the first ninjas. The three of us were a team, we would do missions together all the time. Once we became top ranked ninjas we had discovered of the power of the elements. We learned through years of practice and training and we taught the elements to other people whom we deemed able to wield it. Those men became ninjas and trained under us. they trained but never were able to fully utilize the element as we can. Those men became powerful enough and made their own clans of ninja. We stayed here, in our temple. This temple is where the first clan masters trained. So I guess you could say it was the first ninja clan. As our lives neared their ends we decided the thing we loved to do most was teach people how to wield the elements. We decided we wanted to teach more ninjas how to wield them. We combined our elements to create a seal to bound us to the temple once we die, there we could live eternally as ghosts and teach ninjas how to fully utilize their elements. We later heard of ninja clans waging wars on each other, 'Clan Wars!' We came to stop these wars, we entered their battles and stopped both sides by restricting them. We continued this until finally we passed away. I guess you could say we were the start of these wars, but perhaps it was meant to happen. I personally was disappointed to hear my students were fighting each other, for something simple like re and land. After time had passed we became known as the Elemental Masters, ninjas were sent here to test their strength. That's how the whole 'master's exams' begun." Explained the wind master.
"Wow, that's very interesting, I'm also curious about the other ghosts, why are they like that?" I replied
"The ghosts you fought in the temple were ninja who have died and were bound to a life after death, a life in which they are to protect the temple. As for us, we were powerful enough to keep our physical form, they could only maintain their spiritual form. As for the armored ghost, he was a bit different, he was strong enough to keep his physical form as well, he only used a portion when fighting you. The ones at your clan were ancient ninjas who wanted to test you. You guys are the 5th generation of ninjas, In the 1500 years that ninja have been around, the ninja's were forgotten over time and lost, refound and remade. They always end up destroying each other through these clan wars."
"I see, well hopefully we won't get into any more wars!" I responded.
"Yes, now is there any more questions?" he asked.
