~Aurora~ 900 A.D.
3 centuries later...
For these past 3 centuries I have built my way back into this world, creating a new born identity-- a well known one at that. I assist other monarchies and groups to further extend my social status along with my power. It was true, the Aurora of 600 A.D. was no more. Known to be dead and missing. Just as Orpheus was.
I own a manor with servants and rich objects in which I was able to obtain over the years of building this new power I had. Though, the only thing i do not have were my men...my armies. I was the last of my flank that somehow managed to live with the help of my captain below me.
He must've planned this. He must've wanted me to rebuild and face that unknown power once again. Those cursed humans! They were greater in number now, they too had built themselves through the years. They side with greater powers to further strengthen their armies. They side with vampires seeking revenge, death, or simply power itself. This made the humans at the top of the food chain. The enemy, I'm sure, uses those vampires they have in their ranks as mere servants of death and blood-sucking weapons for their cause.
I want that to change.
It must change.
I wander between multiple alliances and monarchies, being the one to assist any of those monarchies that are in need. I use my power to my best abilities to assist them, all the mean while....searching....investigating. I make contracts with others, binding myself to their needs in battle or investigations. All they have to give me in return is information about the enemy. These contracts... once the time comes, I will unite the monarchies. I will use them to defeat the enemy. Though I have no men of my own. That is what i search most for today. Although I have these greater powers at the tips of my fingers, I cannot ask for their men. I have the numbers but not the strength... I had to find a bigger power that would actually be effective in investigating AND fighting.
An army like Orpheus'.
Slaving away at finishing and signing expired contracts, I tower over my desk, alone in this dark silence in which I have isolated myself in all these centuries. My heart and mind have been hardened from all of this learning I have obtained over the years. My mere servants feared me because of my lack of emotion I show... These unexpected actions I can take against them under my will.
I have no time for foolishness.
I cannot have light play in my sight. I must be consistent and effective in my work.
That's when a servant had entered my office, his face stern and straight, yet his eyes showed a bit of worry and fear in my presence.
I smirked at his fearful eyes before asking in a calm, collected and venomous tone
"What news do you bring me?"
I asked, noting the small scroll he held in his hand.
"My lady... an unknown lord has asked for a challenge."
My thoughts paused, my expression now more curious than venomous. A challenge? A power believes they're strong enough to challenge me? Unless if it were the enemy, I would refuse to back down from this...challenge. The servant handed me the scroll before giving a bow in respect from leaving the room. Though, i did not acknowledge this since my thoughts were focused on the scroll.
It read:
My Lady Aurora,
I have come to the knowledge that you have brilliant power, and offer your assistance to those in need of powerful allies. I have noticed you have quite a few connections in which I would like to obtain if you are willing to accept my challenge of minds. Not a physical battle, but one using our mere experience and power of our minds. I believe I would be a worthy challenge to you, knowing of your power. Please do consider accepting. I would love to make a bargain with you, and meet you for myself.
Sincerely, Lord O.
My eyes gazed through the scroll before raising an eyebrow. He believes he is a worthy opponent? Perhaps this was my chance to gain that one needed power.
With that thought, I pulled out a new scroll, writing a letter of acceptance and informing him to visit my manor. With that, I sealed the scroll, sending it out with one of my servants, informing him to take it to this mysterious Lord.
Could it be....No... its impossible. He was dead. I knew that for a fact.
