Tick...tick....tick....TICK......

The entrance of my tent had been opened, a weak and new fledgling having a report for me, his hands shivering from seeing me in the flesh. He was new so I did not recognize him.

I killed my previous servant. This was my replacement.

"What do you have for me, fledgling?"

My voice was low and calmed, yet with a dangerous tone to it as if threatening him. Daring him to step out of place. Yet he was too scared to do such a thing. Too new to think of such freedom around me.

"L-Lady Aurora has replied to your request, my lord..."

His voice trembled as he spoke yet he stepped and handed my the scroll filled with Lady Aurora's response.

Lady Aurora... a well known wanderer?.... If only...

I tore the wax seal apart from the paper, unrolling the scroll, seeing the precise handwriting.

It read:

To the mysterious Lord who disguises his name as 'O.' I read through your letter of challenge, and after some brief thought, I have accepted your challenge in hopes of making a bargain with you. A proposal from me: Whoever wins shall benefit, though the loser will not be penalized for their defeat. I shall further explain this to you if you are willing to meet with me personally at my manor. That way, we can discuss further plans and bargains. Please do note, this shall be a peaceful discussion. I do not want to compete with one i'm not willing to speak with.

Humbly at your service, Lady Aurora.

tick......tick.....TICK

Her handwriting passed through my purple tainted eyes. I set the scroll down before piercing the new fledgling with my gaze.

"We will be riding tonight." I said, setting the scroll down on my desk.

"W-we...sir?" The fledgling asked as if for clarification.

"Yes, fledgling. You and me."

He gave a tense nod. "Yes sir..."

"Ready the horses. The sun will fall within moments now."

With that demand, the fledgling servant gave a small bow in respect before exiting my tent to ready our horses.

TICK.....TICK....

I rubbed my temples, visions of my past 2 centuries away from the surface flashing through my head, wanting to remind me of all that I had lost. All that I had experienced. These past 100 years have allowed me to collect what I had lost at the battle on the surface...

1...2....3... breathe...A miracle I made it back here...

If this woman was as powerful as others claim, I may have a powerful ally on my side. That was to be bargained for. I believed I would be a worthy opponent for her, and possibly an ally as well from all that I've heard about her.

I've been seeking for a real challenge for these new 100 years. A powerful being at my side to defeat that bastard army of fledglings and humans that took my life once and many others.

We ride.
