My fury got the best of me, drowning my heart in its wrath. My eyebrows drew together, my fists clenching tight. Without thinking twice, I yelled at him, my mouth spitting poison. He had committed no crime. He was merely just distracted by his floating thoughts, attempting to sort them out.

Though, I couldn't see that, my eyes were blind. If only I had looked over the curtain veiling my eyes. Assumption was the first solution that came to me, soon to be turned into the best approach in my mind. I decided to presume, my first doubt indicating to another girl in his life. My thoughts indicated anything but certainty, but in the fire of my vexation, logic wasn't to be heard of. Without inspecting further, I just somehow concluded my theory to be right.

Despite my spiteful words, he just smiled, shaking his head as if my anger was amusing. This only caused the rage to reach its peak, to rise beyond all measures.

Frustrated at his lack of understanding and guilt, I stomped off, leaving him calling my name, his voice only pulling the trigger to the flames burning within me. I didn't bother turning my head even once to glance at him.

If only I knew what he was going through...

Author's Note:

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new short story "Resonance". If you have decided to give my writing a try, then I am extremely grateful to you for spending your time to read my words. I appreciate every single vote and comment. This was chapter 1. I know that it's very short. This is because this is a short story, which means the chapters will be quite short, as well.

This chapter is dedicated to my best friend, Nila (twiztedheart). Thank you so much for helping me find the images for the book cover, Nila! As I said before, I'm sorry if I annoyed you by being picky. I'm not really good at dedications, so I'll keep it short. I just want to thank you for being a great editor and giving me feedback. Mostly, I want to thank you for introducing Wattpad to me. I had always just used this website to read. Although, you inspired me to make my own account. Now, I'm on Wattpad almost all the time. xD I love writing stories and reading other books on this website. Thank you for being an awesome friend! :)

This story has been inspired by "Me Before You" by @EmSlough. Her story encouraged me to try a poetic tragedy. If you haven't read her book, then make sure to check it out. The words are beautiful. Also, "Resonance" is all my work, meaning I have come up with the entire story line. So, you will not find much resemblance within the stories. Although, if you do find any, then just know that I have not copied anyone. I am completely against plagiarism. Everyone deserves credit for their work.

Lastly, please do not copy my story. I have worked extremely hard and written every single word with deep thoughts. It would be devastating if someone else were to take credit for my work.

That's all. That wasn't short, was it? I'm so sorry for the long author's note. I just had a lot to say; I know a lot of us have been there. :D

Anyways, that's it. I hope you enjoyed reading and have a great day! :)
