I feel like the wind's been knocked out of me. "What?" I croak.
"I remember. I remember everything." He says. He grabs my hand and squeezes it. "Everything."
I feel a tear slide down my cheek. "Tell me something. Something only you and I would know."
He chuckles. "Ok, um... Oh, I've got it. You've always loved romance movies."
Dean looks at me like he just saw a ghost. I look at him, guilty. "Guilty pleasure." I say. I take a deep breath. He remembers! No one knew that except for him and me. I laugh, and feel more tears slide down my cheeks. I wrap my arms around Charlie's neck and laugh into his shirt. "But, I saw you. You died in my arms."
"I uh - I don't know how to explain that, because I don't know what happened there." He says.
I nod, wiping my face. I smile at him. "Let's get you up." Sam and Dean help me get Charlie off the floor, and we lead him to the couch. He sits down, and I sit down next to him. "Get him a glass of water." Sam nods and goes to the kitchen. I turn back to Charlie. "So for six years, you have been alive and well?"
"Yeah, I guess so." Sam comes back in with the water, and hands it to Charlie. "Thanks." He drinks the water.
I turn to my brothers. "Could you give us a minute, please?" They nod and walk out. I hesitate before saying, "So... Do you remember, um, how it felt?"
He swallows, and nods. "Yeah." He clears his throat. "Yeah, I remember." A new wave of tears comes, and I know that there's no stopping them. "What's wrong?"
"It's my fault." I sob. "I should've been more careful that day. I should've known that there was something weird about the ring on that womans finger. I had a feeling, and yet, I didn't pay any attention to it. And you ended up dead. Thinking that I had killed you."
"Oh, Lee," He says, pulling me into a hug. I cry into his shirt. "I know, I know it's not your fault. And I know that it wasn't you. Don't feel guilty." He pulls back and holds the sides of my face. "I love you, ok, Lee? I love you so much, and I've missed you." I nod, and he pulls my face up to his and kisses me. I haven't felt his soft, warm lips in so long. We stay like that for a long time, until we have to come up for air.
I smile. "I love you too." I hear my cell phone ring, and I look reluctantly at Charlie. "I'm sorry, I should get that." Charlie nods. I get up and find my cell phone, and when I look at it, I see it's Bobby. "Bobby, hi."
"Leann. I found some information about where you are. I think it's demons."
"Ok, I'll let Sam and Dean know." I hang up. I turn to Charlie. "Demons." He looks down at his hands. "What?"
"I know." He says. He looks back up at me and smiles. I chuckle.
"I'm gonna go tell my brothers." I say. I turn around, and head to the bedroom that Sam and Dean disappeared into. The door is closed, and I can hear them arguing on the other side. I put my ear right up to the door, to try and hear their muffled voices.
"...trust him. I mean, he was dead." I hear Sam say.
"Yeah I know. Something about him just doesn't sit right with me." Dean replies.
At that point, I knock on the door. I open the door, and I see my brothers standing next to a bed. "Uh, Bobby called. Demons." Sam nods. "I think Charlie should tag along with us. I mean, he is a hunter after all. And my boyfriend."
They share a knowing glance before nodding. "Ok."
I nod. "Let's go."
They follow behind me as we walk down the hallway. I see Charlie still sitting on the couch, his head in his hands. "Charlie?" He looks up at the sound of my voice, and smiles. "Are you ok?"
