Leann's POV

I'm laying in my bed. I open my eyes and look at the ceiling. I see my mom with blood on her torso and fire dispersing out from her body. I try to scream but nothing comes out. But then she disappears. And dad takes her place. The same thing happens. It happens several times with all the people I've ever loved. Charlie, my boyfriend, uncle Bobby, Dean, Sam, and then me. But I don't burn. Sure, there's fire. But I don't burn, nor do I feel any pain.

I wake up sweating. Sam and Dean are still asleep. I look at the clock and see that it is 3:00am. I don't feel like I need any more sleep, and I don't really want anymore, so I get out of bed and go to the bathroom. I splash my face with water. I stare at myself in the mirror. I have green eyes with a very small hint of brown and blue. My hair is dirty blonde, the same as Dean's, and I have the same nose as Sam. The shape of my eyes is like Sam's, which makes us look alot more like we're related. I go grab my laptop and climb back into bed. I try to do some research, but I just can't sit there. I'm restless. I get up and throw on some sweats and sneakers. I grab my watch that calculates speed and distance, from when I was in high school and did Cross Country. The watch reads 3:30am.

I step out of the door and lock it. I used to run all the time. I especially loved to run with Charlie. But ever since "I" killed him, I haven't run much since. Also, it helps clear my mind. I do some stretches, then I walk down to the sidewalk. I set my watch so it will measure how far and fast I run. And then I go. I run for what feels like forever, but when I check my watch, it's only been 10 minutes. I look at how fast I'm running, and it says I've been running at 8 miles per hour. I decide to slow it down a bit, but keep a steady pace. After about an hour and a half, I have completely forgotten why I felt I had to run. I decide to turn back.

When I get to the motel, Sam and Dean are still asleep. It is now 6:40am. I go take a shower and change into new clothes. When I come out, it's 7:00, and Sam and Dean are awake.

"Well this is unusual," Dean says.

"What?" I say.

"That you're up so early. That we don't have to wake you up." He replies.

"I couldn't sleep." I say dismissively. "Went for a run." Dean looks at me like I'm crazy, but he doesn't say anything.

"Get ready guys, so we can go get breakfast." I say.

They get out of bed and get ready. While they do that, I grab the keys to the Impala.

When Dean comes out of the bathroom, Sam is already ready. "Ok, let's go." Dean says. He starts to look for his key, but of course, he can't find it. I'm surprised that I'm able to hold back a smile. "Who took my key?"

I take the key out of my pocket and dangle it in the air. "I'm driving." I walk out to the car and get into the drivers seat. Dean gets into the passenger seat and looks at me like I just ran over his dog. All I do is grin.

Sam gets into the back with his laptop. He leans over the seat and whispers into my ear, "You should't've messed with his 'baby'." He sits back and smiles. I smile back through the mirror.

I pull the car out of the parking spot, and as I'm looking to make sure no one is in the way, I see a man getting out of his car that looks a hell of a lot like Charlie. Exactly like Charlie. I push open the door and jump out of the car.

"Leann!" Sam calls after me, but I don't stop. I keep running to the man that is an exact replica of the only guy I ever loved. Sam keeps calling after me.

I finally reach 'Charlie'. When I stop and stare, he says, "Do you need something?"

"Uh, I'm sorry. I just thought... I thought you were someone I know." It's him. Or it just looks a lot like him. Especially close up.

"Oh, well, sorry to disappoint." He smiles at me and holds out his hand. "I'm Charlie."

I hold my hand out to meet his. "Madison." I can feel tears stinging in my eyes.

"Are you alright?" He asks me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks."

Dean comes up behind me and puts his arm around my shoulder. "Alright, Maddie, let's get you back, we don't want to be late, now do we?" He looks at Charlie. "Sorry, she's just out of a mental hospital." He taps his head. I give him an evil look and step on his foot. He grunts lightly.

"Ok, well I must be going. It was nice meeting the two of you." Charlie says.

Dean turns us around and I see Sam has also gotten out of the car. "Mental hospital? Really?" I say.

Dean just shrugs. We get into the car, with me in the back and Sam and Dean up front. "What was that about?" Dean asks.

"Nothing." I say. For the whole ride to the diner, I stare out the window. When we get to the diner, it takes Sam a few tries to get my attention and snap me back to reality.

"Come on," Sam says. "Let's go." I get out of the car and walk into the diner. We sit at a table next to the window. I sit in the chair that's next to the window. When I sit, I go right to looking out the window.

The waitress comes over right away. "Can I get y'all anything? Somethin' to drink?" I don't look at her.

"I'll have a water and she'll have a coffee." Sam says.

"Water over here too." Dean says. I can feel the waitress' eyes on me but I don't dare look away from the window.

Sam pulls his laptop out and starts to research. A couple minutes later, the waitress comes back with our drinks. "Are y'all ready to order?"

I hear the boys ordering, but I don't pay attention to what they're actually saying. Then I feel Sam tapping my shoulder. I turn to face him. "Leann, what do you want to eat?"

"Two scrambled eggs and wheat toast please." I say. The waitress walks away.

Dean stares at me from across the table. He leans in closer to me and Sam. "Leann, what's wrong?"

I lean in sort of mockingly and I lower my voice as much as he did. "Nothing."

Sam leans in too. "Come on, Leann. There's something wrong."

"No, there's not." I say. "So leave me the hell alone." I get up and walk out of the diner.

I get into the impala, and that's when the tears come. I put my head down on the dashboard. I hear the other door opening and Sam gets in. I look up.

"Come on. You can tell me anything."

"How would you feel if you found out the only person you've ever loved is alive, after seeing them get killed by an evil SOB?" I say.

"What?" Sam looks at confused.

"That was Charlie." I say. "My boyfriend. The Rocki killed him. It was practically me who killed him."

"How could you say that? It wasn't you."

"It may as well have been. 'I' was the last thing he saw. He didn't know that it wasn't me."

"Well was he a hunter?" He asks.

"Yeah. A damn good one at that." I say. The tears start flowing again.

"Well then he must've known that it wasn't you."

"When I got out of the old abandoned warehouse the Rocki had dragged me to, I was weak. I had lost so much blood. Somehow, I'm not sure how, it's kind of fuzzy, I got home. On the way there, I grabbed some pine. Cut myself with it. When I got home, I saw the monster sucking his blood. Charlie wasn't dead yet. When the Rocki saw me, it took out a knife, of all things, and stabbed Charlie several times. He died after the third stab, I could see it, his chest rising and falling, fast, and then, it stopped. I killed the SOB." At this point the tears have stopped.

"So there is a chance that he saw you when you walked in. And I thought Rocki's only fed on women and girls." Sam says.

"Yeah, well, monsters have their way of thinking, and we have ours. Gotta be ready for anything, I guess. And, yeah, I guess there is a chance."

"I'm sorry Leann." Sam says sadly.

"I wish I could say it's ok, but it's not. We were 17. Last year of high school. We were planning on going to college together." I reply.

"Are you hungry? Because I'm starved." Sam says.

I scoff. "Yeah, I am." Subtle subject change, I think.

We go back into the diner and our food is already there. Dean watches us as we make our way to the table. "Everything ok?"

I nod. "All is good with the world."

Sam leans over and whispers in my ear, "We can find out if Charlie is a shifter or a demon or something if you want to."

"Yeah, ok." I say.

When we finish eating, we go back to the motel. We do some research to find out if there have been any demonic omens here in Los Angeles. There haven't been. Also there haven't been any signs of a shapeshifter. Then I get an idea.

"Hey," I say. The boys look up at me. "We could invite him to dinner. I have a friend from school who lives here, I can ask her if we can borrow her kitchen."

"What are you going to tell her?" Dean asks.

"I'm going to tell her the truth." I say. They look at me like I grew a second head. "What? She's seen what really goes on out in the world."

"She has?" Sam says.

"Yes," I say. "she has."

"Ok... What's this friend's name?" Sam asks.

"Natalie Burch." I get my phone and dial her number. It rings, and then she answers.

"Hello?" She says.

"Hey Natalie! It's Leann."

"Leann? Oh my God, I haven't heard from you in forever. Everyday I wake up worried that I might see your obituary in the paper."

"Oh don't worry, when I die, I probably won't have an obit."

She laughs a little. "Ok, well what's up?"

"Well, remember I told about my boyfriend, Charlie?"

"Yeah," she says.

I explain everything that happened over the past couple hours and ask her if we can borrow her kitchen.

"Sure," she says. "but why would you invite him to dinner?"

"Because when making dinner, you use salt, and silver."

"Ah, ok. I get it. Yeah, when do you want to want to come over?"

"Tonight?" I ask.

"Sure! I'm assuming you don't want me in the house?"

"It's fine. You can stay or you can go." I say.

"Ok, maybe I'll go. I have a date tonight anyways." She says.

"Alright. But will we see you?" I ask.

"Yes. You will." She says.

"Ok see you later!" I say.

"Sounds good. Bye."

We hang up. "I'm going to go invite Charlie over for dinner."

I walk over to about the place where I saw Charlie get out of his car, and go to the door. I rap my knuckles on the door three times. He answers the door.

"Hi Madison!" He says. "This is a nice surprise."

I put on my best smile. "Hi Charlie. I was wondering, do you want to come over for dinner tonight?"

"Yeah, that would be great. But, uh, that guy this morning, he said you just got out of a mental hospital?" He says.

I scoff. "Don't listen to him. He was just joking."

"Ok, well, yes, thank you for the invitation. What time should I come over?"

"Six ok?" I say.

"That's great."

I pull out my phone and show it to him. "Here's the address."

"Thanks." He says.

"No problem. See you later."

I turn around and walk back to our room. When I get inside, I go right to my stuff and grab clothes for tonight.

"Get some nice clothes on, boys. We're having dinner with my boyfriend."

I go into the bathroom and get my clothes on. The clothes I'm wearing is a short, flowy yellow dress and light pink flats. I put foundation on my face, brown eyeshadow on my upper lid, and a little right under my lower lashes. I put eyeliner on my upper lid, in my water line, and a little under my lower lashes as well. To top it off for my eyes, I put some mascara on. I put some light pink blush on and some light pink lip gloss on. When I'm done with makeup, I curl my hair. When I'm finished, I don't look like myself. Well, not what I look like now. I look like a younger version of myself. A fifteen year old version of myself.

I walk out of the bathroom and Dean whistles. "Woah! Who are you and what did you do with my sister?"

I smile sarcastically. "Haha very funny." I look at both of them. "Where are your clothes?"

"We couldn't find anything to wear." Dean says.

I roll my eyes and walk over to Dean's stuff and rummage through it. I find some ice clothes and throw them to him. Then I do the same with Sam's stuff. I tell them to go change and they take turns going into the bathroom and getting dressed.

When Dean comes out, I fix his hair. He swats away my hand. I frown at him. Sam comes out of the bathroom and I can't help but smile. "You both look riveting." Dean smiles at me sarcastically. "No, but seriously, you guys look good." Dean looks like he's going to explode. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

I get into the passenger side of the car. Dean gets in, but he doesn't start the car right away. "Dean! Come on, start the car. Let's go!"

"You're very excited for this." He says.

"Well, yeah. I'm probably getting my boyfriend back tonight."

With that, he starts the car and drives to Natalie's house.

When we get there, I jump out of the car and walk fast to the door. I ring the doorbell. Natalie answers. She embraces me.

"Leann! It's so good to see you!" She says.

"It's great to see you too." I say. Sam and Dean walk up behind me. "Nat, these are my brothers. Sam and Dean."

She holds her hand out to them. Sam reaches out before Dean does. "It's nice to meet you." She says.

"You too." He says.

She reaches for Dean. He meets her hand and nods to her. "Come on in."

We follow her inside. Behind my back, I hear Dean whisper to Sam, "Damn, Leann's got hot friends." I roll my eyes to myself.

"So, who are you going out on a date with tonight?" I ask.

"With my fiancé." She says. She holds up her hand to show me her ring.

"Oh my God! Congrats! When? And who?" I say.

"When: last week. Who: remember Marcus?"

"Yes! Of course I remember Marcus. Is it him?" I say.

She nods.

"Well? Where is he?" I say.

"He's on a flight coming home. From Iraq."

"Wow, he actually did it. He's in the army?" I ask.

"Yup. He always wanted to do it, and he did." She says.

"Good. I'm glad." I smile at her.

"Oh crap! What time is it?" She says.

"Uh... It's 5:09." I say.

"Crap. Ok I have to go and see you later. It was nice meeting you guys. Bye!" She walks out of the door. I laugh a little.

"Where are we going to get the food that you are going to make?"

"Natalie provided for us." I say. I walk to the kitchen. I find a huge array of food on the counter.

I get all the stuff ready for what I'm making. I decide to start cutting the onions.

The doorbell rings while I'm cutting the tomatoes. I go and get the door. "Hey Charlie!" I say when the door is opened. We embrace. I'm kind of taken aback by that, but hey, I don't judge. "Come on in. I'm in the kitchen right now. You wanna help me?"

"Sure." He says.

We walk into the living room where the boys are watching football. The Pittsburgh Steelers against the Green Bay Packers. "Whose winning?" I say.

"Packers." Dean says without looking at me.

I smack them both on the head. "Hey." They both look at me and then at Charlie. They both get up right away.

Sam holds his hand out. "I'm Sam. This is Dean. It's nice to meet you Charlie. Leann has been very excited." I give Sam a look- he shouldn't have called me Leann. Charlie knows me as Madison.

"Leann? I thought your name was Madison." He says confused.

I close my eyes and sigh. I open them again. "Uh, yeah. My nickname is Madison."

"I like Leann better." Charlie says.

"Feel free to call me that, if you want." I say. "You wanna join me in the kitchen?"

"Yeah."

We walk into the kitchen. I go right to the cutting board and finish cutting the rest of the tomato. "Do you want to pour the salt?" I ask as I put the tomatoes in the bowl where the carrots and onions are.

"Sure." He grabs the salt. "How much?"

"Half a teaspoon." I reply.

He grabs the salt and starts to measure it out. I 'accidentally' bump him so the salt dumps onto his hand. "Oh I'm sorry."

He laughs a little. "It's ok. Don't worry about it." I look out into the living room Dean is watching us. I shake my head lightly to indicate that Charlie is not a demon.

When Charlie pours the salt in the bowl, I grab the silver knife that looks like a butter knife, but sharper. "Do you want to cut the mushrooms?" I ask him. He nods. As I'm passing the knife to him, I 'accidentally' nick him on the arm. "Oh my God. I'm so sorry. As you can see, I'm a klutz." I grab a bandaid from a cupboard and put it on the small cut. He laughs. I look at Dean again and shake my head indicating that he is not a shifter of any kind.

"You know what? Do you want to go watch the game with the guys?" I ask Charlie.

He laughs a little. "Yeah that would be great." He walks out of the kitchen.

When he leaves, I'm able to get everything done much faster. By the time it's 7:00, the dinner is ready. I put everything out on the table.

When I look out into the living room, I see the guys laughing. I smile to myself. I turn around to fix some things on the table, when I feel something cold on my neck and someone piling me back and pushing me against the wall.

"Who are you?" Charlie says in a hushed but firm voice. "The salt? The silver? who are you and what do you want?"

When I don't respond, he says, "Are you a hunter?"

A tear that I didn't know was forming slid down my cheek, and he let me go. "Are you?" I nod. "What's wrong?"

"Charlie, I-" Just then Sam and Dean walk in.

"Is dinner ready?" Sam asks.

I wipe the tear from my cheek. "Yes it is. I made vegetable salad and chicken." I walk over to a chair and sit down. "Sit, eat."

The guys all sit down and dig in right away.

"So, Charlie, what do you do?" Sam asks.

"I'm, uh- I sell insurance." He says. "What do you all do?"

"FBI." We say in unison. Then I say, "Everyone on our dad's side did it."

When we're done with dinner, Sam and Dean move to the living room, while Charlie offers to help me with the dishes.

As we carry the stuff to tee kitchen, he asks me, "What were you going to say before?"

"I was going to say that I am a hunter. So are my brothers. You are too right?"

He nods. "Why did you cry?"

"Because..." I feel the tears about to come again and have to lean against the counter for support when we get to the kitchen. "Because you used to be my boyfriend."

"What?" He says.

"We met when we were 15. We hunted together all the time when we were 17, I was taken by a Rocki that we were hunting and it turned into me and killed you. I cried because- because I missed you." I say. I didn't realize I was crying until I finish talking.

"Leann, I'm sorry but-" He starts. But then he starts to clutch his head and he collapses.

"Charlie?!" I say. He still clutches his head. "Charlie!"

Sam and Dean run in and they kneel down next to us. Charlie looks up all of a sudden. We help
him up.

"Charlie? Are you ok?" I ask.

We walk him to the living room and sit him down on the couch. He looks up at me. "Leann, I remember."
