Ableu pressed himself against his bedroom door, then sighed and closed his eyes. Then he walked over to his bed and put his backpack on the desk by his window. He turned back around and swallowed a scream.
The doll was sitting on his bed, staring right at him. He carefully approached the old doll and picked it up gingerly. "What are you?" He whispered to it. It didn't reply but have him that sickening yellow toothed grin.
He threw it to the floor and changed into his comfy clothes: a Nike t-shirt and basketball shorts. He popped in his earbuds and listened to his favourite music while he pulled out his homework. Normally Ableu doesn't have homework because he does it at school, but today he was really sad and hid in the bathroom because some 8th graders were bullying him for not being 'like them'.
But he was fine after that. As Ableu did his math homework, he thought he heard his mom call his name. He took out one earbud and shouted: "Yeah mom?!" No reply. He shouted again, "Mom?! You call me?!" Still no response.
Then he remembered that DJ had ballet lessons today and sat confused in his desk chair. Mom must have already taken her to ballet. He thought. He shrugged it off like anyone would and returned to his math, one earbud still hanging out of his ear.
Then, as he had just finished his math, he heard his name called again. Closer this time. His heart skipped a beat and he ripped the other earbud out of his ear and stood straight up knocking his chair down on the way. Is someone in the house?! He thought wildly. No, that couldn't be it, he would've heard them come in.
"AbLeU..." The voice was right behind him now, he took in a sharp breath and whirled around to find the doll yet again sitting on his bed. Staring at him with a much bigger and much creepier smile on it's cloth face. He stopped breathing for about ten seconds and then resumed whilst running down the stairs and into the utility closet in the laundry room.
Ableu held his breath and waited in the closet until.. "JoKeS oN yOu AbLeU FrEdRiCkSssSs..."
