Chapter 1- New Life

It was the start of the new school year. You can hear the chatter, the excited voices of the students and freshmen talking to different and new people. Teachers started rushing to get things done before the students start to pour in.
They were all hustling and bustling. But one young lady stayed calm and observed all of this happening. The student council president, Iris Hitashi. She was sitting down in her classroom, waiting for class to begin. Reading "To Kill A Mockingbird", she sat there looking out the door to see if anyone of her friends will come soon.

After about 5 minutes or so, a tall guy walked in the classroom. Iris immediately recognized him. He was Mark Katsumi, the school's very own "smart playboy".
If you noticed, each of them are known for something. Many of the students(even teachers) can see them as a couple. But every girl in the school knows that Mark has a big crush on Rachel Kusotse. Rachel was Iris's best friend. Those two were inseparable since middle school. They went together to almost everywhere and were what you would call the popular girls at school, but not the typical diva and egotistical people. Top of their classes and honor roll, they were the queens of Monarch Ravenwood Academy.

(So let us get back to the main story)
Mark Katsumi walked in and sat next to Iris. I forgot to mention they were always rivals. Since freshman year, those two were sworn enemies. You couldn't get by the day without seeing them bicker about each other. But this year was different. It seems they have matured already. Iris was still reading her book when Mark started to speak" Hey, how are you?". No response. He tried again" How is Rachel?"
No response. Then he spoke again " Are you always like this? Ignoring people when they're talking to you?" Iris closed her book and said " I wanted to read my book in peace but I couldn't concentrate since you talk too much." She walked out the room and down the hallway. Mark mumbled " That girl is weird af. No wonder she has only Rachel as a friend"

As Iris walked down the hallways, she bumped into someone. "So sorry" She looked at the person and saw her best friend Rachel. "IRIS! OMG I MISSED YOU" screamed Rachel. "Shhhhh you're so loud." They hugged each other. " Wanna go to the garden first? We have time before class starts." Rachel suggested. Iris agreed.

"So what have you been up to during the summer?" Rachel said. "Oh you know stuff" That was Iris's answer to everything. She wouldn't reveal anything that would embarrass her to anyone. Not even Rachel. Rachel learned to go with it all throughout the years. She never bothered to ask what she meant. Rachel started to speak and said " I WENT TO JAPAN" Iris's eyes lit up in spite interest " DID YOU GO TO HOKKAIDO?!" Iris's screamed. "Yes. Yes I did Iris. I know how much you love Hokkaido so I got you a present." Rachel hands a locket to Iris. Iris said in an excited voice" Thank you Rachel." Iris then said " Look at the time, its almost class. Lets go now Rachel?" Rachel hurried on and said "Sure" and they walked to the doors to the main school building.

3-E(hehe get the reference?) they heard a crash and loud screaming. " SO IT WAS MY FAULT?" One boy screamed. " OF COURSE IT WAS. YOU DIMWIT." Another boy screamed. Rachel and Iris look to each other and ran to the classroom. They saw Mark and Will Sakushi punching each other. Iris immediately screamed " STOP IT THE BOTH OF YOU" The two boys stop and looked at her. Will said " Oh look its the pres. Hows it going pres?" Iris said in a stern voice " Im fine thank you very much. More importantly, what happened here?"
Mark spoke up and said " Little Will here said was jealous that Mika was flirting with me. Who could blame her? I am handsome" Iris thought "What an ego filled person" then she spoke " Mark go to the office and tell the secretary what happened. Take Will with you." "Yes Maam" Those were Mark's last words as he exited the room with Will. Rachel patted Iris on the back and said " Its gonna be okay." Iris smiled and sighed

Classes resumed for the day. Mark and Will were sent home to calm themselves down. Iris was in History class,her last period. Then it was time to go to the SC meeting. They were talking about the Ravenclaw festival( I put references in so much) and how it was going to be organized. A girl with glasses said " We should do a couples booth!" Another one said " WE SHOULD DO A RAMEN BOOTH WITH BENTO BOXES AND SUCH" Iris was listing all of these down and emphasizing on the ideas. Iris then said " We will do a Pair Booth where total strangers try to survive the trials with the help of each other. Sounds good?" Everyone agreed. They also said that each class will do a booth each. The teachers were also at the SC meetings as well so the teachers have a say in the matter. After the meeting, Iris said goodbye and went home. She walked for 10 mins and home sweet home. She said " Its 5:20. I have 30 mins to get to work." So she put all her stuff in her bedroom and got her needed items for work. She rode her bike to a place called Ni Hao Siopao. Iris went to the employee break room and dressed into her maid outfit. She worked at a maid cafe, for goodness sake. As Iris went out, she greeted the chefs and her fellow co workers. Her co worker said " Go to table 3." She followed the orders. As she went to the table she asked " Hello Sir! What would you like to order?" The customer looked up at her and Iris was shocked and bright red. The man that she took the order for was.....
