Fast asleep, Arthur nuzzled into the pillow. From what Alfred could see, Arthur seemed to be fine. But mentaliy the Brit was slowly falling into a nightmare. As the time ticked on throughout the night, Arthur kept tossing and turning, mumbling words that no one could understand, oddly they were in fact lines from past spells that he'd used.
Just past three in the morning, it became worse for Arthur. Suddenly he bolted upright, sat on the bed with wide eyes, his body was shaking and Arthur shouted out, "NO!" His breathing was heavy, clear tears falling down his cheeks.

Hearing Arthur shout, Alfred jolted up from his sleep, still rather drowsy from being woken up so suddenly. "Arthur?! Are you okay?" He puts his hand on Arthurs shoulder to try and calm him down. "Dude, What happened? Are you okay-? "
The sandy blonde attempted to  calm down his friend but as his hand was put on Arthur's shoulder, he felt the other shaking and wondered what happened that was so bad to make Arthur act like this. Alfred was bought out of his thoughts as he heard sniffling- was Arthur crying?

As Arthur felt something touch his shoulder, he instantly flinched and was quick to jerk away to the other side of the bed. "D-Don't touch me!" He shouted, his voice clearly trembling. Those wide, lifeless green eyes were filled with fear and uncertainty.

"Arthur- calm down! Its only me!" Alfred shuffled towards Arthur on the bed and kneeled in front of him, his own heart racing fast as he tried to figure out what the hell just happened.
"Just calm down, im only trying to help! What happened? Did you have a nightmare?" The questions just came rambling out of his mouth, putting his hand on Arthurs he could feel the Brit's hand trembling.

"Please, calm down and tell me what happened."

Lowering his gaze to the where he thought his hand was, Arthur silently nodded followed by a slow blink which cased loose tears to fall. "Alfred..." He whispered, like he was trying to remember.

"Arthur, please dont cry anymore. Please, just tell me what happened." The American tightened his grip on Arthurs hand and sighed, looking down at their hands. Arthur's was limp while his held on tight.
He wasnt the best at helping people in this kind of situation but he could at least try. Letting out a huff, he pulled on the other's arm -not hard enough to actually hurt him, he wasnt about to make him hurt any more than he already was- and brought the brit into a tight hug, rubbing his friends back like a parent would do to a scared child.

Silent as he was brought into a hug, those dull eyes gazing off to the side, Arthur continued to let the tears fall, dripping onto Alfred's shirt. He didn't care how he'd look to Alfred, he was still frightened... still scared of that horrific day which memories will always remain. Nuzzling into the American's shoulder, Arthur let out a shaky sigh.

"Arthur, dont worry im here for you, just let it all out then tell me what happened, was it a nightmare?" Alfred asked slowly, hearing Arthur crying and notcing that his shoulder was now a bit wet, the thought making his heart feel heavy.

"It came for us... everyone... the nations... until death." He managed to choke out between heavy breaths. Arthur slowly shut his lifeless eyes, still leaning quite a bit on Alfred, trying to concentrate on his breathing. "It turned for me... I tired to escape... use what was left of my magic... But no, nothing worked. Nothing ever does... I will always and forever have no sight because of it..."

Is he talking about what happened at the mansion? Alfred had been there at the time but he actually didnt remember much, so he wasnt sure, his thoughts of it were fuzzy.
"Dont worry Arthur, Im here for you" He reminded him and hugged him tighter, wanting to make him feel even the tiniest bit happy again.
"I dont remember what happened in that mansion but i'll always be here for you, and you know what? I would give away my sight too just to see you happy again.." Alfred's voice trailed away, honeslty feeling like he was going to cry- But he was the hero and he couldnt  cry in front of someone in destress!

"Alfred..." Arthur whispered breathlessly, his head sill resting against the American's shoulder trying to concentrate on what he was saying, let alone trying to bury those dark memories away... Away once again until the next time he fell asleep.

"Yeah, what is it Arthur? You okay?" He could feel Arthur leaning heavily on his shoulder, not minding the exra weight, he continued to rub small circles into the other's back.

"Thank you..." Arthur smiled softly on the other's shoulder. Even if Alfred couldn't see it, he was beginning to feel happiness once again.
