I was already regretting this

I tried to keep up with one suitcase and a handbag in both my arms with my purse falling down while searching for my ringing phone.

Talk about stressful

"Yes Mom?" I said answering the call with an exasperated sigh

I adjusted the strap of my purse on my shoulders

"Sweetie, where are you? I can't see you" She answered, her voice a mix of fear and excitement

Seriously?

"Mom, can you calm down? My plane just landed. I'm at the landside" I said starting to walk to the exit

"Oh! OH! Honey, I see you!" She screamed excited, quickly hanging up

Ouch, my ear...

I saw her coming at me almost running with her stiletto heels with a big smile in her face and her arms open

I put my bags down

"Oh baby" she said when she reached me, almost tackling me "I missed you so much!" she continued

"Yeah mom, me too. Can I breathe?" I said returning her embrace yet struggling with her arms suffocating me

She let me go without removing the smile on her face

I just stood there with an awkward smile of my own

"Well? Let's go! Everyone is waiting for you! C'mon!" she exclaimed way too excited

"Alright, let's go" I sighed, grabbing my bags once again

=======================================

I spent the majority of the car ride listening to mom ramble about–no kidding –almost every existing topic of conversation in the world.

"And I said "That is not turquoise, lady. That's just Bondi blue" and she said "Ma'am that's the color you saw on the storefront" Can you believe it? I mean, people right now are just" she shook her head as if she couldn't stand it

I couldn't stand it

"If I wanted a plain blue blouse I would ask for it! You know? You don't have to bring me the attitude either. Right?" She continued with a slight frown in her forehead

I didn't bother replying for I knew she would just keep talking anyways

I just rested my head in the car window and hoped to see the house soon or else I would've jump out the car while moving

Anything to stop mom from talking about the latest gossips of Bradley Cooper

Or the new Dr. Oz's new recipe of low fat almond and coconut cookies for vegans

Who really cares?

"We're here honey!" mom exclaimed, pulling me out of my thoughts

She hurriedly got out of the car, clearly not waiting for me

I got out myself, quickly opening the trunk to get my suitcase and locking the car again

I stared walking on the snow path towards the house decorated all in red bows, green stuff and Christmas lights

I almost got blind

Needless to say my mom was a big fan of Christmas

Shrugging my shoulders I kept walking
