Oh wait, no they didn't.

We all stood together on that hill, Leo's and Arlene's hands intertwined, my head on Nico's shoulder, and all was well. For the first few minutes at least.

"Hey guys," Arlene began, "I'm enjoying the moment and all, but shouldn't we head back to camp and maybe, I don't know, let them know we're alive?" We all laughed at what she said, even though she did have a point. We didn't need people worrying about us anymore than was necessary.

"I'll race you there," Leo teased, pulling Arlene behind him as he ran towards Camp Half-Blood.

"You're on repair boy," Nico taunted back. He grabbed my hand and looked at me with his chocolate eyes.

"Are you ready?" He asked as the world around us faded to black. I gave him one of my signature devilish smiles.

   "I was born ready."

Obviously, we arrived at camp much sooner than Leo and Delilah, but we decided to wait for them. Neither of us wanted to be bombarded with questions surrounding their well being. We strolled along Half-Blood Hill, stopping to visit Thalia's tree and the check on the Golden Fleece.

"We should go do something," I suggested a mere 20 minutes into our walk. Nico gave me a strange side glance.

"Where do you want to go?" He asked, his tone suggesting the words where can we go.

"Let's go to the beach," I said, leaving no room for debate. He chuckled under his breath, murmuring some Italian phrase that I couldn't quite make out. He grabbed my hand and I closed my eyes, waiting for the wonderful feeling of darkness to come. Bit it didn't.

I opened my mouth to ask what was going on when I felt his lips, full and soft, brush against mine. I have a small gasp of happy surprise, opening my eyes to find that we had been transported to the beach.

"What was that for," I marveled, still in a slight daze. He smiled at me with his warn smile.

"You said you wanted to go to the beach, so I brought you to the beach." He gave me a quizzical look.

"So what al are we gonna do now that we're here?"

"Go swimming, obviously." My voice had a hint duh in it. I turned to look over the ocean, taking in the smell, the breeze, and the crystal water that stretched on forever. I loved the beach. I always had. Even though this ocean was beautiful, it was nothing compared to the ones in Italy.

I felt Nico come up behind me and wrap his arms around my waist. I laid my head on his shoulder and we stood there, enjoying the veiw together.

"Okay," I said, pulling out of the embrace, "enough lovey-dovey stuff, let's go swim." I walked towards the water, glad my outfit was a tank top and short shorts. I put one foot in cautiously, checking the temperature. It was perfect. I looked back at Nico who was still standing in the same spot.

"Well, are you coming?" I yelled. He gave an exasperated sigh before trudging forward. I turned around and dove into the water, letting it wash over me. I swam out a bit before coming up for air. I looked around for Nico, but all I could see was Jonathan Oran and his newest prize- er girlfriend, Sarah Rose. She was a daughter of Aphrodite who, unlike Piper, enjoyed breaking as many hearts as she could. Thay was one thing she and Jonathon had in common.

They were whispering and laughing as they strolled down the beach hand-in-hand. I smiled to myself. They seemed like a good match. I was about to go look for Nick when a bright light flashed over Jonathan's head. I shielded my eyes, the light too bright. When I looked back, he was gone and Sarah was walking as if nothing had happened.

Trailing along behind her was some new, goddess-looking person. Her auburn hair blew behind her in the breeze, making the goddess look even more prominent. When she turned around, her face ignited memories in my skull. Her name was at my lips when the world went dark.

Bright lights flared above me, burning my heavy eyes. I groaned internally and sat up, the task being harder than is should have been. The room was spinning as I stood, causing me to stumble along like a drunk.

"Let me see my sister!!" A voice demanded from the other side of a huge wooden door.

"Your sister is still sleeping. She needs her rest." This time it was a different voice. A more manly one. Arlene. She was the one that wanted to see me. My brain was annoyingly slow, but eventually it all clicked into place. I had seen a face. A person. I knew who it was and I needed to let them know that she was back.

I tried to throw open the door, but my limbs were still frail and weak. It creaked open slowly, cutting off any conversation.

"Rebecca?" Arlene said, her voice unbelieving. I opened my mouth to say something, but no sound came out. I tried again. And again. And again. Tears fell down my face as I tried in vain to make a sound, any sound.

"Rebecca?" Nico asked, his face tight with worry. "I'm so sorry. This is all my fault." A single tear fell down his face and the only thing I wanted was to comfort him, to tell him it wasn't his fault. But I couldn't. My voice was gone and it was all her fault.
