Danny leaned in closer to close the gap between him and Saya. She turned her head to the side.

“Is everything ok?”

A tear formed in Saya’s eye.

“I-I’m sorry. I can’t do this,” Saya said stuttering.

Danny turned away, embarrassed.

“It’s ok. It just seemed like, like you wanted it.”

She looked into his eyes.

“Believe me. I do. But I got a memory back.”

He looked at her in surprise.

“Oh! You did? What was it?”

More tears threatened to spill from her eyes.

“I have” She paused for a moment.

“I have someone special from where I came from. Someone who cares for me. Someone I love.”

They both sat there, faces flushed, looking away from each other.

“I’m sorry,” Danny got out.

“No. It’s perfectly fine. You didn’t know.” Saya said, her face still facing the opposite direction of his.

He stood up and dusted the dirt off of his knees.

“You know, you’re a crazy person,” he said with a smile going from one ear to the other.

She looked up, surprised that he could forgive and forget like that.

“Yeah, I guess you’re right. I’m not normal. I’ll give you that.”

They both started laughing. Danny gave Saya his hand.

“You ready to go?”

She took his hand.

“Yeah. Let’s go.”
