Taking a deep breath in, I turned the knob. With a push of the door, behind it, to my relief, only had a couple making out. They were fully clothed, thank god. The couple was too into their makeout session to notice little old me standing there. I sniffed the air one last time to finally find the haven of the smell. The man making out with the slutty redhead pulled away from the kiss, sniffing the air as well. It was then that my presence was noticed and it was also then when our eyes met.
A spark.
"Mine," his husky voice growled. I stepped back, so did the redhead. His piercing green eyes looked onto my brown ones. I had no words to describe how I felt.
My mate was standing before me.
Alpha Hunter was standing before me.
I couldn't breathe, I did the only thing I could think of.
I ran, like the coward that I am. No Alpha would want me as a mate. I'm not strong, not perfect, not alpha female material.
I'm a mere human, he deserves so much better.
