Prologue

Adrianna's POV:

So this is how it ends.

Lying here with no where to go.

Trapped in a lonely space with people surrounding me; guarding me from ever escaping.

I am only left with the rhythm of my heartbeat to listen to, and some rations of food that I managed to pilfer before I was taken.

Oh, the shame.

I hope they will all remember me well.

Adrianna:

The somewhat pretty girl...

With maybe some musical talent here and there...

The chubby one with a cat for a best friend...

A youngster that was never had their first kiss.

That fourteen-year-old, innocent child with an interesting background.

One sad and lonely 5'5 little virgi-

"ADRIANNA!"

I am pulled out of my miserable thoughts and back into reality when my mother shouts my name. I groan and turn my head to face her.

"Whaddayawant" I slur tiredly.

"Adrianna! Is that really a good response to your mother, do you think? I have been calling your name for the past five minutes. It is highly disrespectful to respond like that, expecially since you haven't been giving me, your dad, or your little sister the time of day this entire car ride! We have tried to talk to you, include you in conversations, and make you cheer up, but that has all been put to waste by your highly negative attitude." My mother made the choice to rant, so guess what. She is going to get one right back.

"You know what, Mum? I think I get the right to be upset. In the past few months I have been put through so much-"

But I am interrupted. Again.

Surprised? Nope.

"Young lady! You most certainly do NOT get that right; especially to be using that horrid sass with me. You have been sulking and throwing a pity party throught the course of the last five hours and I will not stand for you being a negative influence on your sister, and a drag to this entire family!"

"Okay. That is it. THAT IS IT! I am tired of being bossed around and told what to do, when, and how to do it! I have been pushed through so much fuc-.... Freaking things lately, and I am done!"

I might be in a pissy mood, but I know better than to curse infront of my mother. Unless I want... Hmmmm, let's see.... About a life time's worth of grounding? Yes, that about sums it up.

"You and Dad have forced Piper and I to move away from our friends, our home, and the way of life as we know it! You went and changed everything about our life without even conversing with us until, what?! TWO DAYS before we leave? You didn't even let me have a freaking cell phone to call the friends that I had! You made me write down their numbers on a peice of paper, which I LOST at the airport! I have no friends but my sister and my cat! How freaking sad is that! YOU are the one who doesn't get the right to argue with me right now, because quite frankly, you and my father are making my life more and more of a living HELL!" I burst. I finally let that all out. It felt good, but I almost felt bad.

"YOU WATCH your LANGUAGE young lady! I will not tolerate you speaking to you mother that way, or any of our family that way!"

My dad reprimands me with a nerve-racking amount of volume, but I remain unflinching. "We will be arriving home soon and I will not TOLERATE you being a constant buzz of negativity with an atrocious attitude for the rest of the ride there!"
