Chapter Four: I've Got a Feeling
*
"I don't even understand why he is saying this."
"Will you fucking shut the hell up."
"You and your wicked mouth."
"Only for you."
"I feel so special."
"You should."
"Well I just really don't understand why you can't love me like everyone else."
"I'm sorry that I'm not swooning like all the other females."
"Don't be. You'll eventually give in to my charm."
"Likely story."
"Highly."
Lukas and I had been at this conversation for the last half hour that Mr. Hedge had been going off about how this year was going to be an excellent one. We were in my study block and the poor old man was just trying to find something to say to kill the fifty minutes we had.
There were only a few more blocks left in Intro Day.
Only a couple more hours to stand Lukas Greggory.
I could fucking do this.
The whole entire day had been filled with the Seniors that were a part of the Protect Freshman from Bullying League having to chose a Freshman to look after; and it somehow worked out perfectly so that everyone had a guardian. The struggle for once was not present for myself, though, due to the fact that I had my odd new protector way ahead of the game.
Moving along, Intro Day was also a day for the entirety of the teachers' flimsy attempts to make it sound like they actually wanted to get to know all of us students.
As if. I think I'll do us all a favor and say that all of the teachers would rather be at home scooping their aged feelings into their mouth by the spoonful instead of dealing with us "bratty, meddling kids."
Anyways, Intro Day had been kind of a bust and I most definitely didn't see it going anywhere interesting, so here I sat; making argumented conversation with the stupid boy that wore a raincoat in summer when there was zero precipitation.
"What are you looking at?" Shit, I had been staring straight at Lukas as I thought about how miserable my day was going.
"Nothing."
.... What an intelligent answer, Adrianna. Congratulations to the next Victorian and recipient of the Nobel Prize.
"Awwww were you admiring how handsome I was?"
I scoff when he says this. "Come on, I definitely wasn-"
I am cut off mid comeback.
"Wasn't what? Gawking? It's okay Sunshine, most do. It's nothing to be ashamed of, have no fear."
I sit there and my mouth falls open in shock of how much of a dick he was for saying that.
.... Though soon enough I aim and fire an insult to dull the whiplash - You are obviously highly uneducated about my identity if you were not expecting a comeback.
"I should have made myself clear that I have zero patience for self-centered, large-headed and insultingly-flirtatious males that come within a mile radius from me, never mind try to exchange words with me. Sorry for not clearing that up for you sooner, but I think you will need to back away very slowly if you would like to see tomorrow."
