Chapter 15
Telling the news to Kyle was the hardest thing I ever had to do.
For one thing, I could never get him alone. We were always surrounded by his friends or fangirls. Yes, his fangirls. Even though he was ‘officially’ going out with me, his numerous fangirls still wouldn’t leave him alone. They were like vultures, waiting for Kyle to break up with me so that one of them could swoop in for the kill.
I could’ve told him over the phone, but I felt like I had to tell him personally. Sure, it was a fake relationship but I still felt uneasy ‘breaking up’ with someone over the phone. Besides, there was more to this than a fake relationship. Kyle wasn’t a bad guy and I wanted to actually help him out.
“Did you tell him?”
Aiden had been asking me that question over the past few days. And every day I’d give an excuse as to why I didn’t tell Kyle about us. I could tell he was getting impatient.
I shook my head. “I didn’t,” I replied.
He sighed. “Why not?”
“I couldn’t get him alone. We’re always surrounded by those idiotic airheads,” I said.
“Com’on, Elizabeth. How long are we going to sneak around like this?”
He had a point. I was mostly with Kyle at school to keep up the facade, and we could only meet up in the back of the school but not always. We sometimes met up after school but with Jordan and Sarah tagging along so that if anyone saw us together, it wouldn’t seem suspicious. It wasn’t too bad at first, but now, after two weeks, it was getting a bit tiring.
“I’m sorry,” I apologised. “I just didn’t get the chance...again.”
“It’s alright,” said Aiden, though I could tell it wasn’t really alright. “Listen, um...I have to go somewhere tonight so I can’t meet up with you...”
“Where?”
“Uh...I have to get some important stuff done.”
“Okay,” I said. A part of me wanted to ask him what but I was still new at relationships. What if he thought I was a clingy girlfriend if I asked him about his business too much?
“Cool, then. I’ll see you later.”
With that, Aiden left, leaving me staring at his retreating back rather speechlessly. Where was the fun-loving guy I spent my lunch time with over the last few days? Something was up.

I shouldn’t be doing this.
I really shouldn’t be doing this.
I mean, I trusted him. I honestly did. But a part of me just couldn’t help myself. He’d been acting weird these past few days and I wanted to know what he was up to.
Yep, I was spying on my boyfriend.
He was currently in a cafe by himself, twiddling his thumbs on the table and tapping his feet on the floor, looking like he was impatiently waiting for someone. I was itching to join him and ask him what he was doing but I decided to be a coward and wait in the shop opposite the cafe, watching him from the window.
However, since I was in a shop, I was bound to be interrupted from my stalking.
“Would you like some help to try a dress, Miss?” a saleswoman came to ask me for the second time as I’d been standing in the same spot for about twenty minutes now. She probably thought something was wrong with me.
