Nova, Adrian, and Chris: Uhane's Squad

Uhane's POV
"Welcome to the Freak School,"

"Nova, that's Ells. I think she transferred over from the Light Class," I say, with a snicker.

"Huh. Don't you remember that a few years ago, we had that kid who transferred into the Light Class?" Nova asks, not bothering to look at Ells. She's slightly more open to newcomers than I am.

"Yeah! I remember that. We never heard from him after that. I wonder how he's doing," I say.

Nova, turns her head over to Ells. I straighten the choker that's around her neck; it was turned slightly sideways.

"How long had you been in Light Classes?" She asks.

Ells opens her mouth to answer, but gets cut off by someone else. Adrian, my other best friend, sits down.

Adrian has a skin condition called vitiligo. All over his skin, there are patches of white skin, and patches of brown skin. He's the only person I know who has it, and quite frankly, I don't understand why some people make fun of it.

"Hey, dumbass," I say, warmly.

"Shit eyes," he replies, making a reference to my brown eyes. I roll them in response.

"Oh shut up, you two," Nova says, smearing another layer of black mascara on her lashes. "I was trying to ask Ells a question,"

Adrian nudges my arm. "Who's this?"

I open my water bottle. "Transfer Light Witch," I whisper.

"Anyway... Ells, do you ever remember having a transfer student from the Dark side?"

Ells' POV
"Well," I said, taking a sip of my orange juice, "I have been in Light Classes for about 4 years. And, I've never had a Dark Witch into my classes, why?" I asked, curious.

"Just curious, that's all." She said, plopping some gum into her mouth.

Then, another kid, who had splotches of white and brown skin, taps my shoulder. I turn to look at him, and he looks at me. Then, after a few seconds, he asks "So, uhh, why did you go to the dark side of school if your a Light Witch?" He asked, not really bothering to look at me. He was, by the looks of it, a Dark Wizard.

"Well, It was the principal, Mrs. Moon, that transferred me. She told me that she thinks I'll have better luck here then then when I was taking the Light Classes..." I said, taking the last bite of my sandwich. Then, I open a packet of Fruit Snacks! Those were so delicious!

I plop an orange one into my mouth, as he says, "The name's Adrian."

"Hello Adrian! My name's Ells!" I said, with a smile on my face.

"Ells, you need to learn how to blend in with the Dark Witches." Uhane said, taking a sip of soda. I know, on the Light side of school, they don't allow soda at all. Do they... allow it here? In the Dark side?

Uhane's POV
I know exactly what Ells needs. For starters, she needs to look the part. I tap on the table to get Nova's attention.

"Meet me in my dorm after school today. I'll bring her," I whisper.

"You guys aren't very good at whispering," another boy's voice chimes.

Now, sitting at the final seat of our table, is Chris. He's that one member of the squad that shows up late to everything.

"Dude, you should've been here 20 minutes ago," Adrian exclaims.

Chris nods. I can never understand why he's always so late to everything.

"Chris, this is Ells," Nova peacefully exclaims. He blinks twice at her and looks away.

"Why is she wearing white?"

"She's a Light Witch," I say.

Chris snickers. "Well, it must suck being her then,"

Chris is an interesting character. He's a straight up rebel like I am, but actually has a charming personality, unlike myself. His black hair is in contrast to his pale skin, and his eyes are two different colors. One is green, one is blue.

"So Chris... Heard you're taking Nova to the dance," I smirk.

His eyes widen. "Oh, hell I'm not!"

Nova scoots uncomfortably in her seat, and Ells looks amused by our bickering. I love making things awkward.

After a few seconds Chris speaks up. "Hey, Adrian. I heard you're taking Uhane to the dance,"

Adrian shakes his head, silently, while I burst out laughing. "That's seriously the best you can do? No points for that one, you just repeated the entire sentence I said," I say, between giggles.
