The day to fly to the United States of America was finally here. Our flight was for about six hours. We would land on Denver, Colorado, after which, Hitler, Christopher and I would drive 199 miles for three hours to Parachute, Colorado, where Lucy lives.
Our flight was at night so we had to report to the Nadi International Airport in Fiji anytime during the afternoon. My mother drove the three of us to the airport. The sky was golden, indicating that the sunset was close. My heart did an excited cartwheel when I remembered how much Lucy loved sunsets. My wait to see a sunset with her doesn't have a long delay now. Soon I'll have her in my arms, as we would watch the golden sky turn red and then finally black.
Hitler and Christopher were talking non-stop about what we would do when we land while we were unloading our bags outside the airport. My mom hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. She reiterated to me, that all my decisions need to be made wisely and then she left.
Hiter: I'm so excited to go to America. Your mom was very kind, Jason, to drop us at the airport. Unfortunately, I forgot to say "thank you" to her. I better text her now before I forget.
Hitler is one of the nicest people that I have ever met. He always says the magic words. He is very well mannered. I knew that I could trust Hitler more than anyone, even Christopher.
Christopher without any warning put his arms around Hitler and me, and using his iPhone, he snapped a selfie.
Christopher: Hey guys don't look at me that way. I want to upload all our trip's photos on Facebook.
Hitler: At least let our trip start. It would start when we land on Denver.
Me: For me, it would start when I finally get to see Lucy.
Christopher: Oh no! Not that girl again. Remember this saying my friend, "Bros before Hoes." Do you understand? "Bros before Hoes." Don't forget about us, okay?
Hitler: Wait a minute; did you just call your to-be-sister-in-law a ho? How dare you? Apologize to Jason now!
Christopher: I am too good to say sorry. I thought saying that word is your job, your expertise.
Hitler: How can you be so rude? His mum just drove us here. At least respect that. You shouldn't be allowed to meet Lucy. You don't deserve to see her.
This was the most amusing thing about having Hitler and Christopher as my friends. They always argued. They were always on the opposite sides of the pole. I seemed to be in the middle of them. While one would agree to something, the other would disagree. I mostly agreed with Hitler because he is more sensible than Christopher.
Soon we boarded our plane. Lucy, I'm on my way to see you. I messaged Lucy, "See You Soon" and I switched my phone off to prepare for take off.
