Slowly the brightly lit sky was turning watermelon pink with golden streaks. Finally, along the roadside we were greeted by a sign that read WELCOME TO PARACHUTE, COLORADO.
My heart felt as if it would burst with excitement.
Christopher: We are here, dude. We are finally here. So where's our future sister-in-law, bro?
Me: I haven't told Lucy that I have already arrived.
Christopher: What the hell dude! Why not?
Me: I wanted to surprise her. But wait, I'll send her a message in snapchat now.
I opened my snapchat and I clicked on the inbox icon after which, I pressed on Lucy's username. I clicked on the text compose section and I typed.
Me: Lucy, my love, I'm here. I'm in your hometown. Where can I meet you?
After typing my message, I pressed the send icon. The message didn't go through. I tried again. The message wasn't going through. I clicked on Lucy's username and I saw that she was no longer following me and I wasn't following her anymore. I couldn't believe that this was happening to me. I desperately began to hit the send icon that it seemed as if my fingers could pierce a hole on my phone's screen.
Hitler and Christopher seemed to have realised that something was wrong.
Hitler: What's wrong? Are you not getting good internet signal?
Christopher: What's wrong dude? Why are you crying like a baby?
I didn't even realise that I was crying. Tears were rolling down my cheek. My eyes were welled up with tears. I suddenly started to feel as if my heart and lungs got punctured. My chest was aching like hell. I started to choke. I felt as if I had forgotten how to breathe.
Hitler pulled over the car. He figured that I was having a panic attack. He pressed a button and the top of the car started to pull away into two sections to expose the night sky. A round and milky moon brightened the night sky. Soon small drops of white snow started to fill the car.
Hitler: Breathe, my friend, and tell us what happened? Don't worry, Christopher and I are here for you.
With a lot of strength, I managed to find my voice.
Me: It's Lucy. She has blocked me on snapchat.
