a burning sensation

The girl knew who he was. The way she sounded. The way she looked.

But what made Jack even more curious was why she looked so guilty when she stared at him.

But there was something else that made Jack freeze. Something else was written all over the blonde's face, but he couldn't tell what it was.

"Jack," she repeats, "it's really you."

Something told him not to go up to her. To leave this place and never come back. But he couldn't help it. She knew who he was. And he didn't know. He walks over to the window, and gets a better look at the blonde.

Her blonde hair seemed messy, as if she just got up. Her eyes were a bright blue color, like the sky, and they were wide with shock, and something he couldn't tell.

Her right hand slowly came up, shaking as it got closer to him. She reaches out and her fingers barely brush against his cheek.

Both Cher and Jack jump back. Jack felt a sudden burning sensation the moment her fingers touched his cheek. Cher suddenly felt a cold, icy feeling against her fingers.

The guilt in Cher suddenly got bigger. This was all her fault wasn't it? And she was making a bigger mess.

"I'm so sorry, Jack," she says.
