Chapter 2 ~ Let the Picnic/Adventure Begin

At six am I woke up and got changed then an hour later I heard the doorbell ring. "Who is it?" I yelled as I shoved my feet into my shoes, on my bed.
"Me," said Brooke as she waltzed through my bedroom door.Classic Brooke.
"I brought 2 packets of chips, 2 sandwiches ham and cheese of course.I also brought some orange cordial and a picnic set all in a basket."

"Morning Brooke and yes, i am doing fine," i said.

"Sorry, just excited, as usual"

"That's ok , I'll tie my shoes and be out in a minute."

We walked down the beach steps and searched for a good spot to eat. "How about up in the sand hills?" I said.

"Cool that's fine with me" said Brooke.

We walked up and started unpacking the picnic set.
"Damit! I forgot napkins!"yelled Brooke.

"Don't worry, I'll go up to The Shack and see if they have some..."

I trudged down the path and saw the cafe, The Shack, with the old neon open sign glowing. Just as I was about to push open the door I saw, through the corner of my eye, a floating blue orb. I turned around and it was directly in front of my face. It quickly went over the edge of another set of sand hills then zoomed back to me, it did this a few times. "Do you want me to follow you?" I asked cautiously. The orb bobbed up and down. I followed it around the rocky cliff edge to a little secluded part of the beach with many large rock pools.

Legend has it that the pools were made from meteorites that had crashed into the sand thousands of years ago, creating the pools. It seemed a little over the top to me. The blue orb floated over to a large rock pool on the far side over the beach. I carefully followed it over. When I reached the pool I washed my feet in the water. As soon as I felt the cool water a chill went through my body. Suddenly I felt alive and ready to do anything. There was something fishy yet magical about this pool.

The orb hovered over a worn stone in the centre of the pool. I waded closer. Carved into the stone was a trident. "Lift it."

"Pardon?" I looked around me.

" I said lift the stone." I looked to the orb and it glowed brighter. The floating, glowing, speaking orb. Wow. I lifted the carved stone and placed on the sand. Another tingle. Under the rock was a necklace, with a blue water droplet that was glowing. When I went to pick it up, a power overcame me telling me to put it on.
