I gazed at her. Her eyes gleaming in terrible fright. Her poor body, covered in mud, blood and the fathomless darkness that seeped into her plethora of wounds. Mierah, my dearest subject. Do not  remember your dreams? She twitched at my gaze. What do I say to her? No, I will speak no more.

~~~~~~
He took my hand and pressed his lips onto my palm. "Come..." He lifted me from the ground when my head began to drop. "Mierah?" I couldn't control it. "Please , help me!" I pleaded my head rolled back. Nicolai pulled me into his arms, caressed my head and pressed the side of my face into his chest. He swept me sideways away from the Border. As he did so, I caught view of my former assailant. I wrapped my arms around Nicolai's waist, terrified. The Fallen. That was his name. The Fallen's face was pressed into the Border forcing his way through.
~~~~~

He was trying to control her. This awkward embrace is the only thing keeping her head on her shoulders. The Fallen sneered at Mierah and I. "Look at you, you betrayer. Finally found a mate?" he bellowed in my language, our language, a language she has yet to learn. I gazed back a Mierah and returned my stare to Fallen. "The Border will have your head if you move closer." I frowned back. "Touchy... Must you keep me waiting?" he growled back. "My deal with you is no longer." I stroked Mierah's hair as he began to growl. "I knew you'd do that..." I smirked at his mumble.

"Demon." I smiled as I motioned to myself. I felt Mierah let go and heard her run into the background. "Good luck going home, you'll need it." I growled back to Fallen. He disappeared into the void of darkness that flowed like fog.

~~~~~
"Demon!" I huffed to myself. I took a look back and there he stood. I gasped and drew my sword. "Stay back or I'll slice you open like I did William." He gazed at me with wonder. "I like how you said that so smoothly. Like - like you never loved him at one point in time." I shuddered at his remark. "He's gone now." I snapped. I replaced my sword and walked further down the road.
I soaked in the sun. It felt like a warmth that encases one in happiness. I've been observing him. He's like a ghost, but something was bothering him. Perhaps his earlier remark? I stopped and peered into his eyes. "Get over it." He jumped. "I'm sorry?" he asked. I shook my head in amusement.
It was strange getting used to the sun. But I had to return there, where ever there was and figure out how this happened. I suddenly shuddered. I was slightly possessed when Fallen simply stared at me. I was weak. How I ran from him instead of taking a stand. Shameful, absolutely shameful. I stumbled. A roaring noise came bounding from above and shook the earth below me. The surrounding area trembled like frightened mice and a flash of light blurred the foreground. I turned. "Mierah!!!" Nicolai yelled his hand reached out for mine. The Border zoomed in from behind. "I'll take good care of him." He smiled as The Fallen's voice melted from the Border. Nicolai was pealed from the light into darkness, a cry of remorse echoed from the swirling darkness. "N-no... NICOLAI!!!!" I stood there in silence. The Border has given in to Fallen and light is loosing.
"Not now..." I stared into the void of darkness that embraced itself like a conceded being. Why should I go after him? "He saved your life." I said out loud. The wind changed direction. "I barely know him." "HE SAVED YOU AND NOW HE NEEDS YOU." How stereotypical, wait what? I turned my head to my right. Nothing, where did that come from? I felt a ghostly breath along the left side of my neck. I jumped and slashed my sword. Clang. Metal against metal. I looked up. "Oh..." The Being quieted me. "I'll explain everything."
