A Second Chance

It was 2am and I was at Starbucks, drinking coffee and not knowing what to do with my life. I was reading a book that my best friend insisted me to read. So far, I was enjoying it.

I heard the entrance door open and I didn't bother looking up from my book. At least I'm not alone at drinking coffee at two in the morning. Me being the curious person I am, I looked up to see who this person getting coffee was at this time.

This person was somewhat tall, maybe he's around 5'9. He had a black polo shirt on and black jeans and his hair was styled in a perfect way. I immediately knew who this person was.

Brendon Urie.

I decided not to show my face to him because it's been five years since we last saw each other. I turned to face the other direction, but much to my luck, he may have noticed me.

"Y/N, is that you?"

I slowly turned my head towards him and was more handsome than ever. His face matured and his features are perfectly structured.

"Hi Brendon..."

He smiled and he asked if he could sit with me. I nodded, but I knew this is a bad idea.

"So, how have you been?"

"I've been good and what about you?"

"Good, great actually."

I gave him a small smile and looked down at my coffee in my hands. It was silent and awkward.

After a few minutes of awkward silence, Brendon cleared his throat and I looked at him.

"Um... Y/N, can we talk?"

I slightly nodded my head and he moved next to me.

"Y/N... I know we had a bad beginning, really bad. We both fucked up so bad and that was the worst relationship I've ever been in, to be completely honest."

I looked away from him and let out a small laugh because I agree with him.

"We barely talked like a normal couple, we argued every single day."

I nodded and he looked at me because he couldn't read my face. He didn't know what I was thinking.

"We were both unprepared for a relationship."

He just kept staring at me and I didn't know what to do. Should I look away? Or should I just stare at him also?

Brendon spoke and broke me out of my thoughts.

"But, Y/N... Even though we argued, I loved you."

"I loved you too, Bren."

Brendon smiled at me and sighed.

"I loved you then. I love you now."

What?

My eyes widened and I was in shock. What is happening? Did Brendon say he's still in love with me? I think he did. This is crazy. The guy that I've been hopelessly in love with and stalking him on social media is in love with me.

"Um... I-"

Brendon cut me off by placing his lips on mine. This feeling is nostalgic. I missed his soft lips. I missed how they perfectly danced with my lips.

"I love you too, Bren."

His eyes lit up like a little kid on Christmas and his smile was from ear to ear.

"We've matured and I want to give us another try."

I smiled back at him, "I want that, too."

Sometimes, all you need is a second chance because time wasn't ready for the first one.
