Alice, This Is Your Wonderland

Chapter Seven: Mushroom Tops

"Alice, why are you so eager to go this way?" Hatter asked me curiously.

"Because..." I trailed off as I pushed some furry leaves out of my way.

"It's a wonder you don't realize you're going to the Red Queen's Castle without even realizing it"

I stopped dead before I turned around and glared at the Hatter, "And you couldn't tell me before hand?" I put my hand on my hip as he gave me a lop sided grin once again.

"Well, you looked quite into the scenery - didn't want to disturb the golden eyes of wonder"

"You need help" I muttered before I turned to the left and started walking through that way. Hatter followed behind me silently as I pushed the furry vines out of my way before I came to water, "Okay Hatter, how do we cross?"

"We go Bobbing"

"Bobbing?"

"Yeah, we jump to Bobby Mushroom Tops to Bobby Mushroom tops" he points at multicoloured circles that hovered just in front of the waters surface.

"Come on, we should hurry before the Bumble Bee's come"

"What are they?"

"Bee's from your world, but the size of your dolphins... well, that's what Alice Jenkins said what they looked like"

"Lets go" I walked past him and stared at the circle platform before I did a run up and jumped into the air, landing on the purple, green and blue Bobbing Mushroom top.

The mushroom top suddenly went down and I gasped as my knee's got submerged in the greenish-blue water.

Quickly I jumped to the next one, the same thing happening again, "Hatter - what's going on?!"

"You need to do it quickly or you and the mushroom top sink!"

"Could have told me before" I snapped before I jumped to the next mushroom top, but that one went down quicker then the rest. Quickly I pounced to the next one and grabbed a hold of hit as I started to be submerged in the water.

"H-Hatter"

"Coming!" I hear him sing happily while I a splosh of him landing on a mushroom top. Something grabs a hold of my leg and I yelped as I get yanked under the water.

Quickly I locked my jaw so I wouldn't swallow any water, I looked down to see a orange tentacle wrapped around my leg, oh for god sakes what else could possibly happen to me now?!

It lets go of my leg and I float under the water before I looked around and saw an orange squid-cross-a-octopus thing staring at me. Without hesitance I kicked upwards and tried to swim to the surface, only to be grabbed again and pulled further away from the surface.

Soon the pressure started to get to me and I struggled to remove the thing on that was wrapped around my leg, I clawed at it as I tried to get the tentacle to get off of me before I either burst from the pressure or drown.

Suddenly I see Hatter swim and grabs onto my leg before he pulls out a knife - oh I am so screwed.

He slit pushed the knife into the orange tentacle before he wrapped an arm around my waist and tried to pull me away from it, all my insides her from the lack of oxygen and me holding onto what little oxygen I have.

Hatter probably saw this and pulled me towards him before he planted his lips on my - OKAY BUDDY. TO MUCH FRIENDLINESS AMIGO.

He made me part my lips before he I had air fill my lungs - wells that's away to get oxygen. 

Soon he starts kicking upwards and I do too, and then we surface. Gasping for air we both splashed around as we tried to breath normally - but then Hatter disappears, "Oh no" I looked around, trying to spot him - that creature has him.

Breathing in I put my head under the water and started to kick downwards, Hatter's hat floats upwards and I grab onto it - but I couldn't see him. Running out of air I kicked back up to the surface before I swam over to the surface and fell on the aqua coloured grass.

Taking in the air I clutched the wet hat in my hands before I sat up while looking around me, "Hatter?" I croaked out. I pushed my hair out of my face as I looked around in fear - great, now I'm all alone.

"Hatter..." I trailed off before something flies out of the water. I gasped in shock as I looked up at the sky and saw a black shape start falling down, and then it hits the ground beside me, creating a creator in the aqua grass.

Hesitantly I peered over the edge of it and saw Hatter groaning, "Hatter! Are you okay - well, you just fell out of the sky, you can't be okay-" he sits up while he rubs his face and turns his gaze lazily to mine.

"Oh - hey Alice, haven't seen you in a few minutes"

"How are you okay?"

"Don't die Alice" he sang before he noticed the hat in my hands, "Is that my hat?"

"It's mine now" I clutched the hat to my chest jokingly.

"What - no, it's Hatters Hat"

"No, it's Alice's hat" I pulled the wet hat onto my head and he narrows his eyes at me.

"Hatter doesn't like the fact Alice is stealing his hat-"

"Maybe Alice will give Hatter his hat back if he stops speaking of himself in a third person"

"Give Hatter his hat back!" 

"NEVER!" I childishly yelled before I got up and ran away from him and into the forest.

"Alice! Alice come back and give Hatter his hat back!" I hear him yell from behind me as I giggled - oh no... maybe something was in the water making me act like this?

Since I normally don't act like this at all... skidding to a stop I looked at a tree with purple, glowing veins on it before I hid behind it and waited for the Hatter to catch up to me... this is going to be fun.
