"I'm quite surprised that took awhile to kick in. The knife had a poison in it, that paralyzes whoever is cut with it. She should be fine in a few more days," the doctor said to the King.

"A few more days?" he asked worried.

"Yes, it would normally take a month or two but seeing she was able to withstand the poison, she should be fine, I suggest you--"

"She has to protect my daughter! Who else can do it?" the King said with worry.

Emilia stirred in her sleep, a small whine escaping her lips. The only one who seemed to notice was the Queen. She carressed the young girl's face and kissed her forehead gently. Emilia calmed down and stayed asleep.

"Harry, you offered this. Don't go blaming other people for your actions," the Queen said calmly.

The King sighed, letting the voice of his beloved wife soothe him.

"You're right. I'll see if Will can do anything about it," the King said, looking over at the sleeping girl.

"How is the princess going to react?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.

"She'll be devastated but she'll get over it. Do not worry, Emilia. We have this under control," the Queen said softly.

I nodded and sat up a bit.

"This is strange," I thought out loud.

"What is?" the Queen asked.

"I can't feel my legs. Did the doctor say this was to happen?" I asked, worried and confused.

"Yes. We are all surprised you can move your upper body freely," the Queen said.

"Just my arms and above the neck. Everything else feels... Dead," I said softly.

"Well don't fret. You'll be better soon," she said, a faint smile on her face.

"I hope so. I swear, Queen Marie, I will try my best to recover so I can protect you and your daughter," I said, a determined grin on my face.

She giggled and stood up.

"Take your time. As long as you are alright, take your time," the Queen said, walking out of the room.

I laid back, feeling bored. What was I supposed to do now? A big grin formed on my face as I thought.

"I can nap!" I cheered, closing my eyes and letting myself fall into slumber.

"You're fine already?" The King asked.

"Yeah, I can move perfectly fine," I said, stretching.

"But it's only been a day," the Queen said, a worried look on her face.

"But the doctor said..." The Queen muttered.

"All I needed was a good sleep... And love.... And determination... And those cookies Dimitrius made for me," I said with a smile.

That was a lovely moment.

"I heard what happened that must've been scary!" A familiar male voice said.
