I jogged towards the princess's room and walked towards her door. I heard talking inside, meaning the King and Queen must've been there. I guarded the room, feeling myself grow sleepy. The door opened and the King stepped out. The Queen followed after and they looked at me.

“Oh! Emilia! Did you hear us?” The Queen said with a smile.

“No I didn't, your majesty,” I said politely.

“Well, we're holding a masquerade ball to celebrate Prince Arthur being Alice's suitor,” she said with smile.

“Don't you think she's a little too young to have a suitor?” I asked.

The princess was only 8 years old! I mean, wait about two more years!

“I married the King when I was 15 and he was 16, it's okay dear,” she said with a smile.

I nodded, still hesitant about this.

“Oh and Emilia?” The King said.

“Yes?” I asked.

“Miss Lin is sewing you a dress. It makes you look elegant and you'll be able to move freely just in case anyone attacks,” he said with a smile.

“Thank you, your majesty,” I said, bowing.

He chuckled, pet my head and walked off with the Queen. I poked my head in the princess's room who was reading a book.

“What're you doing, princess?” I asked with a smile.

“Reading fairy tales,” she said softly.

She looked up, a nervous look on her face.

“What's wrong?” I asked, going over.

“I'm scared... What if Arthur doesn't like me?” she asked.

“You're a very lovable person, princess. I'm sure he'll like you very much,” I said with a smile.

“Would you help me look pretty for him?” She asked.

I was shocked. Did she like him already? Well, that was adorable. I smiled and nodded.

“I'll wake up extra early,” I said softly.

She wrapped her little arms around me and buried her face in my chest. I held her close and pet her head.

“Now I know you really do love me!” The princess said as soon as she pulled away.

I laughed.

“How so?” I asked.

“You're losing extra sleep time for me,” she said with a grin.

I chuckled and got up.

“Yes, just for you princess. I'll see you tomorrow morning. Goodnight,” I said, walking out of her room.

Before I closed the door, she waved and grinned sweetly at me.

“Like that?” I asked, smiling at the princess.

She nodded and grinned at me. Her light brown hair was tied into a neat bun, and her side bangs hung at the side of her face. I dabbed a bright red dye onto her lips. Her bright blue eyes sparkled even more. She wore a blue dress that made her look adorable and highlighted her eyes.

“Thank you, Emilia!” she said with a smile.

“Anything for the princess,” I said, bowing.
