"Violet Ravenscroft, get on with your work if you can manage it" Mr Daniels said in his monotone annoying voice. wow, the way he said my name made me sound like a girl from some kind of victorian period horror story. Id never liked him, and hed never liked me and that was the way i wanted to keep it, so i found the strength to murmur a few choice frazes under my breath, which he heard, i could just tell by the look he gave me, a mixture between spite and hatred. i didnt think teachers were supposed to show thier feelings towards pupils?

My school was somewhere i completely hated, i was almost eighteen so i didnt have long to go before i left but id always hated the cliques and the drama and rules and regulations that went with the place, the learning part was no problem for me but everything else...just no. Today was a little different, my friend Kat had not turned in and that was strange, shed always been one for attendance and punctuality. i could only imagine the rumours that would be spread about her with her being a 5'6 blonde godess of a girl, there was no missing her when she was here so everyone was bound to notice her absence. Kat hadnt spoken to me for a few days, not properly and she hadnt answered my calls or texts, i had no idea what was going on...maybe family trouble? whatever it wasi wassure id be told soon by one of Kats crazy bable sessions she usually had after the week was done and she had loads to talk about. the complete oposite of me,i had no friends apart from her so of course i had nothing to tell her about my week because she was always there with me.

As soon as my last class was dismissed I got up and made my way outside, it was the midle november, minus temperatures at night and the nights drew in very early, so early in fact that by the time i made it outside to walk back to my house it was freezing cold and hard to see from the dark apart from by a few flickery orange street lights that didnt make the situation any less creepy and eerie for me. yay...walking in the dark...just what i needed when i girl had been attacked recently.

On the way home i decided to pop in to a coffee shop id worked in at one time before my grandad had passed away and left me an inheritance i could live on. Id never liked working there, there were far to many people in my town ready to complain when i got something the tiniest bit wrong, so id quit the week after starting and managed to live on the £100 wages id worked for for the week. id lived on the £100 until i recived my grandads inheritance of £100,000 savings hed had saved for me to recieve on my 17th birthday, it was just seriously good luck my birthday had only been two weeks after me quitting or id have been in serious trouble. I reached the brightly lit christmas decorated coffee shop by about five, it had taken half an hour to get there since i left school at half past four on a thursday which ment id made good time and if i spent about a hour in the shop id be able to make it home in time to have dinner at a reasonable time rather than around nine like id had to do for the past few days after having study sessions after school to catch up a little on my work.

I walked in and went streight to the counter but as soon as i did i noticed a..well he must have been about at least twenty by the looks of him, his age wasnt quite a man but the way he looked..his manner around people was that of someone twice his age, the way he looked at the waitress that sauntered over to him was..odd, and to tell the truth it scared me a little. i knew the waitress, she had been the year above me in school and had recently left, her name was emma..emma something, i could quite remember her last name but as she wandered past me i put my hand on her shoulder "hey V whats up? something you need?" she asked with a brilliant cheery smile, i shook my head "no..i just dont trust that guy over there..be careful okay? i know how flirty you are" i warned her with a gentle smile, she giggled "oh okay, if you say so. you need to learn to trust people a bit more, hes a very nice man, so charming...if not a little arrogant" emma said them flounced off back into the kitchen with an arm full of empty plates and mugs.

i gave a quick polite smile to him feeling his eyes burning into the side of my face from across the room, yay i had my own personal stalker now...i didnt know what his problem was, id only come in for coffee not to be checked out by a psycho looking hot guy. turning i frowned slightly at him and walked over away from the counter towards him "is there something wrong? what do you want from me?" i asked trying to sound polite..kind of.
