Ross' POV

"Hey, gay fag! Where the hell do you think you're going?"

"You're so ugly, you couldn't pay someone to be your girlfriend! Oh, sorry, I mean BOYFRIEND!"

"I feel sorry for his siblings. It must be hard being related to such a charity case."

These are the words I hear everyday. When ignored they get worse. I've heard them so many times that a small part of me wonders if they're right. Except the part about me being gay. I don't even know how they came up with that one. Riker probably lies to them about me so he can remain popular.

I walk home from school. The rest of my siblings get a ride home from my dad, who knows absolutely nothing about what happens at school. And I'd like to keep it that way.

No one's POV

McKayla walks through the cafeteria, towards the always scowling trash collector who is now gathering all of the spoiled milk. She puts on her most innocent smile, and looks up at him shyly.

"Um, excuse me sir. May I use this milk? I know it sounds strange, but it's for my science fair project."

He turned to look at her, then said gruffly, "Ain't science fair in three months?"

She grinned at him enthusiastically,  "I like to test out all of my projects at around this time, and then see which one I like the most!"

His scowl disappears, and his bushy mustache moves up into a smile, revealing the crooked teeth in his mouth. McKayla tries her hardest not go glare at himin disgust as he says in his thick country accent, "Well then, by all means, go ahead! It's nice to see a kid who's actually interested in learning!"

She runs up to him, taking the old milk.

"You wouldn't happen to have a bowl or something I can put this in, would you?" she inquires innocently. He hands her a large bowl and she goes into a deserted classroom, pouring the chunky, foul smelling stuff into the bowl.

Ross' POV

McKayla Foster. My first girlfriend. She walks up behind me, and I brace myself. This is never good. I sit there, eyes closed, teeth gritted, and fists clenched as a load of foul smelling --- is that MILK? --- pours over my head, and I hold my breath to avoid tasting it. I head through the cafeteria to the bathroom, listening in silent hostility as the school finds get another reason to laugh at me.
