It's been a very long day. The squad's been working on their case for at least 14 hours just today. They've been working on it for the a week now and they still didn't get any further with the case.

Thomas Lockwood was nowhere to be found and neither was Emily. They even haven't got any new information since a day or two. They've found out that Carlos is the sex trafficker's real name. But further than that they haven't got anything.
Olivia walked out of her office and she saw that Amanda was struggling to stay awake so she called her into her office. They both walked into Olivia's office.

"Amanda are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm just tired."

"Okay, maybe you should go home."

"Yeah, I think that is better if I went home."

"You're right. So I see you tomorrow?"

"Yeah, see you tomorrow. Bye."

They gave each other a kiss and a hug. After that they said their goodbyes again and Amanda walked out of the office and grabbed her coat and said bye to Fin and Nick. She walked out of the squad room and the moment she left the building, a cold breeze hit her and the chills ran up and down her entire body and she walked her way home.

Amanda finally reached her apartment and went inside. Once she was inside, she threw down all her stuff and she kicked her shoes off and walked towards her bedroom. She grabbed a pair of sweatpants, a sweater and underwear. As she grabbed these things, something fell out of the closet. But she didn't notice it falling down on the floor. She walked to the bathroom and ran her bath. After a couple minutes her bath was ready and she slowly slipped into the tub. Amanda finally had the time to relax. After 20 minutes it started to get cold and she got out of the tub. She slipped into her clothes and walked back into her bedroom. As she entered her room, she saw an envelope laying on the floor. She walked towards the envelope and picked it up. She wondered what's inside the envelope and she quickly opened it. As she opened it, she saw a picture of herself and a little blonde girl. Suddenly all the memories came back at once and Amanda started losing it. The picture fell out of her hands and she quickly walked to the kitchen where she threw everything open till she saw what she's been looking for. A bottle of vodka and her cigarettes. She walked to the couch and opened the bottle. She took a sip and shivers as the alcohol ran down her throat and left a burning feeling. She lighted up her cigarette and she just stared at the ceiling while smoking and taking a sip of the vodka every now and then. After a while she started feeling dizzy and very lonely, so she picked up her phone and decided to call Nick. After a couple seconds he picked up.

"Hello, who's this?"

"Nick.." Amanda sobs.

"Amanda? Are you okay?"

"N..no."

"Where are you?"

"In my apartment."

"Okay stay where you are, I'm coming right away, okay?"

"Okay."

And Amanda hung up the phone and burst into tears as she lay down on the couch. After 15 minutes there was a knock on the door and she heard Nick asking if she was there. She yelled that she's coming and slowly walked to the door and opened it. When Nick saw the blonde detective and his best friend looking terrible, he quickly pulled her in for a hug, after he made his way into the apartment and closed the door. Amanda immediately broke down in his arms. After a while they pulled apart and Nick walked them to the couch and they sat down. Nick saw the bottle and the cigarettes and it made him wonder what happened.

"Amanda, can you tell me what happened?"

It took a while before Amanda answered.

"I saw her. I saw her on a picture in an envelope." And she started crying again.

Nick knew she was talking about Riley. Nick quickly pulled her in his arms again and held her closely to his body. Amanda snuggled into his chest while the tears were still streaming down her face fast. After a while they pulled away and Nick gave Amanda a kiss on her lips. They have done this before and both of them knew it meant nothing. It was just their thing to comfort each other.

That's what it meant to them. But what they didn't notice was that there was someone outside the window, who was going to use this for his plan. And it meant something to someone else. Someone who was going to be heartbroken in the morning.
