She smiled as she wore the red bangles in her hands one by one. She blushed on seeing her face glow. Her eyes were down all these times on her hands that were placed on her lap.
"Meher!" She heard her mother, Tarannum calling her.A smile escaped her lips as she looked herself in the mirror. She looked a perfect bride, although she wasn't one. Her eyes were applied with the perfect makeup and her lips, without lipstick were more than pink. She applied a red lipstick and then wore her earing.
"Meher!" Tarannum entered her room and closed the door .
"Assalamualaikum, Ammi!" She greeted her in soft voice.
"Walekumassalam beta! Ma Sha Allah you look so gorgeous." Tarannum replied applying her kohl (kajal) on back of her ear.
(Kohl is used as a way of protection from evil eyes.)"Thank you." she replied with a smile.
"Ya Allah it's just your Roka (engagement) appi (elder sis), and look at you, already looking a bride." Sana said entering the room with Rabiya and Seher.
Meher blushed out red with her statement. "Seems like jiju is going to have a hard time taking his eyes off you." Rabiya teased her."He isn't your jiju appi." Meher replied still blushing.
"Look at that red colour! Rabiya appi she is blushing even more than you blushed on your Nikah!" Seher teased her making her burry her face in her palms.
"Stop teasing her girls and go check out our guests." Tarannum said showing the girls the way to door."Are you Sure Badi-Ammi? Cause you already know if once Seher appi goes out, your younger son-in-law is waiting with his eyes fixed on the stairs." Sana teased Seher and her eyes widened on hearing that.
"Younger son-in-law?" Seher asked her with broad eyes.
"Yup!" Sana replied with a big smile. She dragged Seher to the window of Meher's room from where the living room was easily visible. She pointed on to a handsome guy sitting on the sofa with 3 more boys.
Seher's jaw dropped to the floor seeing him."What is he doing here?" She asked her which sounded more as an excited statement.
"Ask him yourself." All the 3 girls including Meher said at once. The ladies left Meher alone and went downstairs to attend the guest. She sat on her bed and picked up her cell phone. She checked some messages and replied them. She kept her phone aside and went to the bathroom. She made her wudhu (ablution) and came back to offer Nafil Namaz (Salah/prayer) so as to calm herself down. She heard the beep of her cell phone and read the message.
"We are finally here, hope to see you soon... Hamid. " she smiled at the message and sat on the sofa. She waited for the girls to come and inform her about the arrival of her groom, Hamid."So all set to go? Where are your suitcases?" Fahad teased Meher as he entered her room.
"Jiju!" She frowned.
"What? It's not my fault I got confused on seeing you. I thought it was just your engagement but you look a bride, oops! A perfect Bride!" He teased her again gaining a playful punch in his stomach."Can you guys compliment me like a real gentlemen rather than teasing?" She folded her hands on her chest.
"Sorry." Fahad said holding his ears.
"It's alright!" She smiled.
"But she looks a perfect monkey!" Ayaan said as he entered Meher's room.
"Who gave you permission in here? It's my room! Out now!" She shouted throwing a pillow on him.
"Relax princess, I was just joking. You don't look a monkey at all. I'm so sorry." He said holding his ears too. She smiled and hugged him.
"You look exactly a donkey!" He added and Meher ran after him.Ayaan took shelter after Rabiya first. "Ayaan, not my wife!" Fahad ordered.
"Sorry!" He shifted to Seher next.
"Bhai! You will spoil my hair!" She scolded him.
"Now you will also betray me?" He frowned and she moved aside. Meher was straight in front of her prey. She had a wild smirk on her lips that signaled Ayaan to run for his life.
Ayaan ran again and this time tried to escape her room but suddenly got bumped into someone when he was about to leave the room.
"Ouch!" She said. She was about to fall but suddenly felt two strong arms surrounding her body. She opened her one eye and blushed red.
"Ahem Ahem!" All the cousins teased at once. Ayaan let her go and Sana was soon down on the floor.
"Ya Allah! What have you guys done to the room? And where is Sana I sent her in to check on you but..." Aksa stopped in between and then added, "why are you sleeping on the floor that to at this time Sana?"
