*Savannah’s POV*

Where was he taking me? I was currently riding in Joey’s, my best friend's car. We have been driving for about an hour now. Looking out my window I take in the scenery around me. Green fields that stretched for miles were flooded with livestock of all sorts. Woods boarded each side of the car, their leaves floating to the ground as we zoomed past. The sun was starting to set, leaving the sky a beautiful orange.

I was honestly surpirsed he wanted to hang out today. For a few months now he's been distant, almost like he's distracted by something. I would alway try to pry it out of him but he would alway change the subject or tell me to drop it.

I turn around in my seat and glance over at Joey. He seemed to be concentrating on something.

“Where are you taking us?” I just stare at him, waiting for his answer. Joey has been my best friends for five years now. Ever since 6th grade we have been joined at the hip. Everyone always asks us if were dating. I wish we were. You see I am madly in love with Joey, have been since 8th grade but he has this whole ‘no dating’ rule. He says he doesn’t want to mess up our friendship. I just don’t get it. Why can’t he see how much I love and want to be with him?

“That is for me to know and for you to find out.” Joey takes his eyes off the road to turn and give me his famous smirk.

“You know how much I hate surprises, and WAITING!” I yell at him, hoping he’ll just give in and tell me already. I’m not the most patient of people.

“Patience Ant, besides we’re almost there.” He just laughs and shakes his head. He started calling me Ant the first year we meet. He said he didn't like Anna because everyone called me that and he wanted someting different that only he can call me. How he came up with Ant I haven't got a clue but I love it all the more.

“Yea not soon enough though, d*ckhead”

“What’s that?”

Oh crap did I say that out loud! I look over to see Joey staring at me. Sinking down farther into my seat I barley mumble, “Nothing.”

“That’s what I thought.” he gives me a fake glare while shaking his head in a disapproving way

We drove for another half hour before I felt the car pull to a stop and heard Joey yell, “We’re here!”

I rise up in my seat and see a beautiful green field full of exotic plants. The sun was still setting making it breathtaking. Joey quickly runs to my side and opens the door stretching out his hand. I accept it almost immediately. He drags me to the center of the field where a picnic has been set up.

There was a bouquet of roses set in the center, candles lining up around the blanket. I just stood there not knowing what to do.

“Well what do you think?” I hear Joey behind me.

“I-I…It’s beautiful Joey! I love it!”

Smiling he replies, “I knew you would. Now sit.”
