The Ranger's Baby (Ranger's Apprentice Fanfiction)

Part One

Hello!!!!! Welcome to this Ranger's Apprentice fanfic!! We all wish Alyss hadn't died so here is the fanfic for it. I know this chapter is short and a little rushed but it's just an introduction!!!! The rest of the chapters will be longer. But enjoy!

"Alyss," Will whispered as he caressed her head. Nothing. "Alyss," he said a little louder, now tapping her shoulder. Will heard her swear under her breath as she slowly turned onto her back. Today was one of Alyss's rare days off and she had been rudely awaken. "Yes," she said, not trying to hide the annoyed tone in her voice. Will looked at his wife sympathetically. He knew it was her day off and he felt bad for waking her. But he was out to do his daily rounds of Redmount fief and he just couldn't find his cloak. "Do you know where my cloak is?" Will asked. Alyss stared at him with anger in her eyes. "By the front door," she said with a sigh. She knew he had work today but it was her day off. "Bye Alyss," he said while kissing her on the head. She replied with a short grunt and rolled on her side. She listened as he clumsily worked his way to his cloak and out of the house. She knew she wouldn't be able to go to sleep.

Alyss sighed as she walked through the market. She realized she had been doing a lot of sighing. But that was normal on days with a lot of housework. She was heading towards the meat stand to pick up some venison. Usually Will hunted during this time of the year but it had been a slow hunting year for him. As she slowly approached the meat stand, she realized how worn out she was. She knew she had woken up early today, but not as early as she normally woke up on work days. She quickly pushed the thought away as she approached the stand. She strolled the aisle for venison and quickly came in sight with a deer carcass. She quickly started to get very nauseous. This was kind of nauseous she never felt before. Especially with a food she loved. She quickly felt her stomach churn and she turned to vomit. Now all eyes where on her. She quickly turned around for any reassurance but that movement caused her to become very dizzy. She reached out to grab something as she realized she was slowly falling to the ground. She missed and from there, it was all black.

"Ma'am, Ma'am," she heard someone whisper in her ears. She slowly opened her eyes, cautious of the bright lights. She realized she was wasn't at the market anymore. She was staring up at a tall stone wall. She assumed she with a healer of some kind. "Oh good ma'am, you're awake!" Alyss looked over to see a middle aged plump women, obviously a healer. "Where am I?" Alyss asked, taking on the same hushed voice as the healer. "You are at the Castle Redmount hospital my dear. Oh you really gave those villagers a scare. But forget about that my dear. How are you feeling know?" Alyss propped the pillow up behind her and sat up. "Not bad," she said. "All nauseous feelings I had are gone. Just a little bruised a sore from that fall." The healer smiled. She had examined the young women before, and this just proved even more what she thought happened to the girl. Alyss saw the smile on the healers face and suddenly became curious. "What. Do you know what happened? Is there something wrong?" The healers smile got even bigger. "You're pregnant."
