The trees around you danced together, branches intertwined with others as if they were tiny hands beginning to dance the tango or waltz across the soft, grassy Earth floor, just as a breeze blew by. Your skin grew bumps as the icy chill walked up your arms and rubbed on your legs.
"I wish I had known it would be this cold!" You whisper to yourself as snowflakes fell around you, spinning in the air like little ballerinas. Your long and flowing (h/c) hair blew behind your shoulders with a delicate sway. The snowflakes tickled your skin with a cold chill as it collided with your warm arms and legs. You shook as the wind shifted directions, blowing the wind into your face.
"Pfft!" You squeaked, spitting the hair out of your mouth. "Stupid wind!" You slammed your hands onto your arms and pulled yourself into the storm of cold. The wind howled slight whispers in your rosy-red ears. You shook again, staring into the bleak weather.
Miles passed in the cold when you came across a small town in the middle of nothing. You rushed into the only open building and warmed yourself in the heat. Your nose stung a bit, but you were glad that the building was warm and cozy.
The place was pretty much empty except for two others. One was just a stranger, and the other was the owner of the building. You looked around, noticing it was a small pub. You shrugged, huddling in a small corner. You payed no attention to the surrounding men, until one came over to you.
"Excuse me, miss?" The stranger asked in a quiet and deep voice.
"Sir? Can I help you with something?" You return, sitting up.
"Oh no ma'am. I just noticed that you seemed cold and were sitting alone. Need some company?" He questioned. You thought for a moment, then nodded, scooching over and patting the spot next to you. He wore a long coat with a sparkling white scarf around his neck. He had golden-blonde hair, spiked up towards the cieling. His eyes were a grassy shade of green, like little emeralds sparkling in a sea of diamonds and quartz. They sent shivers down your spine. On the other hand, their gaze made your skin feel hot and heavy.
Moments went by in the most awkward of silences. You finally took a deep breath and turned to the man, holding out a hand with a smile on your face.
"Well, my name is ______. Pleased to meet you. What would your name happen to be?" You squeaked, your eyes casting into his. He looked at you with a blank expression on his face for a moment, until he placed his hand into your and shook it gently, or at least tried to. When the first of his fingers barely touched yours, you jerked your hand back. His blank expression turned into a frown.
"Did I do something wrong, ____?" He asked kindly. You shook your head, grabbing his hand and placing your hand in his and shaking. His face turned back into a blank one. "I'm Govert." He mumbled. "Pleased to meet you."
You nodded, taking your hand out of his. He looked forward, staring out into the open room. You frowned and your heart exploded like fireworks and your voice shot up.
"Why don't you smile!?" You yelled. He jumped a bit, and turned his head to stare you into the eyes.
His voice came muffled through his scarf. "I do too smile." Same stoic and unemotional tone in his voice came from his mouth as they struck your ears. You grabbed his scarf, gently unwrapping it off of his neck. You wrapped it around your own neck and smirked.
"You don't get this back until you smile!" You squeaked. He sighed, rolling his eyes. You frowned and turned away unhappily, just to see what he would do.
"I'm sorry, ______. Don't be upset with me." Govert whispered in your ears. His voice made your stomach tingle and turn and ways you never thought it could. His voice was like the notes from sweet choir notes and tones to you. You looked up to his beautiful face as your jaw dropped slightly.
You gulped, closing your eyes. They were not closed completely, just so you could see him through the slits. You breathed deeply, still staring into his hypnotizing eyes. His hand moved from his lap onto yours. You looked down at it and how perfectly yours fit against it. You could feel his pulse quicken.
You bit your lip and leaned towards your head upwards. His free hand stretched up to your face and cupped it, rubbing it softly. You gulped again. You blinked a few times, and you saw his blank expression turn to a smile.
It was the most beautiful smile you had ever seen. It sparkled like a beautiful diamond, or shattered glass. The shine was white as swan's feathers and as pure as angels skin. It tore your boundaries and you hopped up into his arms, pressing your nose to his. You rubbed it gently with your and closed your eyes. You felt two soft lips interlock with yours.
You knew they were his. You didn't care. The collision of his kiss sent your head into the clouds, spinning like a tornadol. When he pulled away, you opened your eyes slowly and calmly. You smiled, biting you lip and leaning on his shoulder.
"Govert, never leave my side." You whispered.
He smirked, kissing the top of your head. "Never, in a million years."
Life was so perfect in that moment in time. You had never thought that anything could be so special.
That is, until you met him.
