Day 5: Sand...

Luckily no one awoke from cannon-shot. I fell asleep and slowly drifted into my dreamland. In my sleep, I can only see Azure's face. With her weak smile drifting in the water. Me stabbing her. Why? Why did I do that! Why did I kill! Maybe she would've won... No... She couldn't.. She did not have a chance.

"Azure? Azure?" I hear cries and yells. I quickly awoke to see the rest of my allies looking for Azure. "Bailey where the hell is Azure?" Dove yelled. Boston was crying and having a breakdown. Wow, what a man he is (Note the sarcasm). I stayed quiet. "I-I.... Don't know where she is.. I think she killed herself. When awoke to a cannon I saw Azure's body in the water." I lied. Tears came to my eye but I quickly blinked them back. If I told the truth Boston would kill me. I'm trying to survive.. not die. Boston's eyes were full of tears and looked like he was going to go insane.

"We can't do anything about this. Let's just get going...." Dove sighed. "Azure..Azure..." Boston quietly sobbed. He slowly went to the water not to find her body. The hovercraft must have already took her. A cold breeze of wind-swept through us, picking up our hair and making it dance in the wind. We packed up our bags and made sure we had everything and we kept walking into the sand. A cannon shot up in the air. 13 left. Almost half.

2 hours later...

It was so quiet. No one dared to say a word. Sweat poured off of our heads as the sun burned us. I stayed looking at the ground. I stared at Ace. Sweat dripped off his head. Next to him was Ruth and carrying her bag on her back. I never noticed that I'm actually taller than Ruth. In our alley the tallest girl here is Dove. But Boston and Ace are taller then Dove. Boston was holding his axe in his hand. "DUCK!" Dove yelled. Were on top of a sand hill right now so we all ducked down at the top. We could see a man walking. It was so bright out that we can only see his figure.

"Ruth? 6? 12? 4?" I heard the man's voice yell. "Johan?" Ruth yelled and quickly got up and stumbled down the hill. Once she reached the bottom she jumped onto Johan and gave him a tight hug. "I was so worried." Ruth muffled into his chest. "Come down!" Ruth turned her head away from Johan and yelled. Everyone came down the hill and ran over to Johan.

We let Johan and Ruth to catch up even though there was not much to say. Boston kept mumbling words under his breath that I can't understand. "So did you kill anyone?" Ruth finally asked. It was silent then Johan finally spoke. "Yea," He said quietly. "The girl from 9 attacked me. I had to or I would've died." "Wait the girl from 9 attacked us in the rain forest." Dove said. "Wait you never told me about anyone attacking you." Ace glared at me. "Sorry there was no time to talk.." I said quietly. Or shall I say there was no right time to talk. "She must have followed us." Ruth said. "Or she was also trying to escape the Careers." Ace suggested. Well, we will never know now cause she is dead. I raised my shoulders and shrugged.

We walked for around another 30 minutes with only little talk. It was so hot. Ace was sweating so much and his face was red like everyone else. "It's so fucking hot! It's like walking in hell!" Dove complained. She started to remove her jacket and tied it to her waist. Everyone also started to take off their jackets and the boys took off their shirts. Ace was Built. I could not lay my eyes off of him. I quickly turned my head around to stop looking at them. "It's not fair that you're the only gonna get a sunburn." Dove smirked. Dove started to take off her shirt and she was only left in her bra. I just kept looking straight.

I wonder what the game makers are thinking. Are we completely suicidal? Yes. Yes, we are. "Come on Bailey and Ruth have a little fun while we are here." Dove smiled and looped her arm around my neck. "I-I rather not." I said. There is no fun in the Games. We are trying to survive! I looked at Ruth and she had her shirt as well. I'm the only one with a shirt on. I rather keep it that way. Also, Boston had a scar going down his chest. I don't think he wants to talk and talk about it.

We kept walking until Dove spotted something in the distance. "What the hell.."  Ace mumbled.  "GET YOUR JACKETS AND WRAP THEM OVER YOUR EYES!" Dove yelled. We fumbled to get our jackets off our waist. I got my jacket off and wrapped it around my eyes with a little bit of it to cover my mouth and nose. Everyone did the same. A big gush of wind came as sand started to fly up. A sandstorm. "EVERYONE GET DOWN AND COVER YOUR EARS AND HUDDLE UP!" Dove yelled once again. We all ducked down to huddle up.

We stayed like this for more than 40 minutes. Not moving at all. The sand scratched our face every time it flew by. I'm so happy that I kept my shirt on. Finally, it stopped. Only leaving dust. We all stood up. I started to untie my jacket from my face. My eyes squinted to see the sun. "Guys is that what I think it is?" I said. I could see a dark blue horizon. It's water. Just one more day walk away.

The sun quickly setted.
