What happened on day 11:
I panted for breath as we all sat on the land of the cornercopia. I kept turning my head over my shoulders always checking the surroundings. A breeze went through the whole cornercopia. I opened my bag to get some water. I grab the bottle and drank some of the remaining water left. Soon there was no drops of water left in the bottle. I shooked and pounded on the bottle trying to get more water.
A blasted sound of a cannon went off startling all the birds. Dove threw her spear into the sand which got all of our attention.
"We are going to need to split up. It's for the best. I'm not looking forward to killing you guys." Dove said in a hushed voice.
I noticed Ace not looking at anyone. Instead he was focused on the ground. We all did not say a word but we agreed. I opened up my bag and stuffed the bottle deep inside of the bag. Without saying a word we all stood up and shook each other's hand saying a silent thank you. A thank you for keeping me alive. To be honest I did not even think I would last this far into the games. Day 10, my goal was to at least to get to day 2, but here I am at day 10. Everyday is a day I could die in.
"We have an announcement: Some of you may be declining my invitation. But this is no ordinary feast. Each of you need something desperately. Each of you will find that something in a marked with your district number. Think hard about refusing to show up. For some of you, this will be your last chance." Claudius Templesmith boomed over the whole arena.
We were just about to go when we heard this. All of this looked surprised. Guess they are finally bringing out the feast. Which means the girl from 10, and the careers will be coming to the Cornercopia. Without thinking all of us ran in different directions and ducked behind bushes and trees. I laid close to the ground staring at the cornercopia. I could see the feast laid out on the ground all around the tree in the middle.
After a few minutes I could hear the sounds of feet moving through the bushes. I held my breath trying to not make a sound. What would be in the bag for 6? Only one from 6 is getting it. I took a minute trying to make out the numbers on the bags. 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 I read in my head. I grabbed some knives out of my bag and held them close to my head. The sun started to set and I tried to see who else was crawling through the bushes.
"Look!" I heard someone yell.
Next thing I saw a arrow shoot through the air and cut through the leaves in the tree in the middle. Is someone in the tree? Another arrow was launched. The arrow came from the right of me. That must be the Carriers. They must be shooting at Ryleigh. Another arrow was shot. Right after it was the sound of a small but loud squeal. Did they shoot her?
"Do it again." I heard a familiar boys voice said.
Another arrow shot into the air. Then all I saw was a young girl's body hit the ground. From here I could see the bright blood trickle from her mouth and the arrows in her leg and chest. A cannon went off startling the birds once again. This time all of the birds flew up making a dome around the arena.
"That's strange." I said whispered to myself.
Another arrow shot up into the sky hitting and killing one of the birds in the dome. That was a dumb move. All of the birds started to squawk and dive down to the archer. The sounds of screams filled up the whole place.
"Run!" I voice hollered.
I could only imagine what the birds are doing to that archer. Then another cannon went off. I held my breath as I watched the Careers run out of the bushes and into the middle of the cornercopia. Oliver was there, Adriana and Jay was there to. I guess Ruby died.
