I am in complete sensory overload as my aunt leads me and Nichole into the venue for the gala next week. She told us all about it over dinner last night but no words could have ever done this justice. Today is the trial run for everything so that nothing is left to chance next week for the actual event. Workers are scurrying about everywhere we look making finishing touches so that everything passes Aunt Jane's inspection.

Nichole and I tagged along at Aunt Jane's insistence so that we can taste test all the foods and drinks that would be served. Once we finish up here, Aunt Jane says she has a surprise for us. I must admit, I'm a little scared.

She shows us around all the rooms that the gala will take place in. The dining room is just gorgeous. I can't think of another word to describe it.

Each table is decorated in exact detail to match the vision my aunt had. She's really outdone herself. At the front of the grand room, there's a stage and a screen. Aunt Jane explains that various supporters and a couple of doctors will be giving speeches throughout the night, as well as showing photos from their work in the charity. I must remember to pack tissues in my clutch. God knows I manage to get weepy at the most inconvenient of times. We spend what feels like hours going through checklists and tasting foods left and right. By the time we've made it through the wines and specialty drinks, I admit to feeling a wee bit drunk. I can tell that Nichole is in the same boat. We can't help but giggle each time Aunt Jane gets flustered over something on her list.

"You girls are hopeless," Aunt Jane says, trying her damndest to sound serious before erupting into her own fit of giggles. She's obviously struggling, too. "Would you girls like to see where you'll be dancing next week?" she asks, looking positively giddy. We both nod excitedly as she links her arms into ours and leads us out of the dining room.

Walking on through a small foyer, we come to a grand ballroom that is equally as beautiful as the previous room. There are magnificent chandeliers hanging from the ceiling that make the shades of silver and gold surrounding us come to life. I'm positively breathless.
