Someone help me. I need a friend, a person, anyone. Help me escape. The words are a cage, and they won’t let me out. I have let them out, and now they have trapped me. They are here to stay. What do I do?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My eyes are open. I am completely awake, but I can’t see. It’s so bright. Why does the sun have to be so dumb?
As I go over to close the blinds, my ears are filled with ringing. This ringing is the ringing of a doorbell. I can also hear my name being called from downstairs.
I go downstairs, and see that the sound of my name originated from my mom.
“What do you want?” I say very annoyed, and quite loudly.
“There is always reason for me to call your name.” She says like a mom.
“Mom, what do you want?”
Just then I turn my head, and see Aria sitting on our white couch.
“Sorry, but while you guys were…doing that mother daughter thing, I just decided to take off my shoes.” She says with a smirk.
I greet her by giving her a bear hug.
She smiles and says, “You already know that that isn’t how it’s done.” She then gets out of my grasp ever-so-quickly, and puts her arm behind my neck to keep my head down. With her other hand she grabs my wrist. She gets behind me, and strategically places my wrist between both of my shoulder blades.
“Say uncle.”
“Winner Aria.” My mother says.
“Okay, okay, just let go.” I say.
“Say Uncle.” Aria repeats.
“’Uncle.’”
I let her win this time, but next time, she is so dead.
“Come on bring your stuff.” She gladly follows me upstairs. She was here to finish an English project.
Aria is like my best friend/sister. Nothing in the world can separate us. Our parents grew up together, and now we became friends because of that, so in a way, we are related…kind of. I love her to the ends of anything and everything and back. She always listens to everything I have to say, and she makes me laugh to the point I cry. She isn’t like my sister, she is my sister, and I love her to death.
“Before we start, can we talk about you and Connor?”
“You always do. He’s just my friend, nothing else.”
“He always treats you like a princess.”
“He’s my friend, and more like my brother, nothing more.”
“I think he likes you.”
“He gives me food, and hugs me once, and suddenly he loves me.”
“I didn’t say he loved you, I just think that he likes you. Okay, so in our ‘group’ there is you, me, Robin, and Connor. Whenever we all hang out, he always pays attention to you.”
“Are you kidding me? Not even.”
“Are YOU kidding me? Seriously, he pays a lot of attention to you. You guys would be the best couple ever.”
“Fine whate-“ I was cut off by the sound of my phone. We both flick our heads towards the noise. I go over to check my phone, which was sitting right at the center of my bed. “That’s weird, I don’t know this phone number.”
“Just read the message.”
“Ok fine. The message simply says ‘Listen.’”
Right then, the house is filled with the sound of a doorbell. We both jump a little, and hesitatingly move over to my door. I open the door, as Aria cautiously follows. We both walk downstairs agonizingly slow. As I reach the door, I don’t really want to open it, but my curiosity takes over, and I open the front door. When it’s fully open, I see Connor, with a gentle smile.
Relieved I say, “Hi.”
“Hey.” He says in reply.

Help me escape, please.
