believe in sea

"there was once a fish tailed sea god who ruled each one of the seven seas with great pride and honor....." my mother eva  was telling my five little brothers about Triton the fish tailed sea god. I sat alone listening silently in the corner i  had heard this story many times before but it never got old. I flicked my tail and swam of towards the surface. Being a mermaid may be every little girls dream but it's not what it seems. Every evening I swim to the surface and i watch the sunset. i am already 15 and so far i've made no progress. I have wanted to walk on land for many moons now and my dream is yet to come true. 

   I lay on a bare rock gazing up at the bright stars. I did not now how long i had layed there but I knew that it had been a while, my mom was probley worried sick about me. I jumped off my rock and prepared to dive back into the foaming sea. All of a sudden a big shape came out off nowhere. I t was a ship, not just any old ship it was a pirate ship it had a skull and cross bones across the giant mast. On deck there were men, human men. Oh how I wished I could be riding the waves swabbing deck with two legs! What was the point of a fin? I began to swim towards the ship but I heard someone yell "A mermaid Fire" of course i didn't know what fire meant so I continued on my way. Not long later I heard the loudest noise I had ever heard BANG The next thing i knew a net was flying towards me i tried to duck but i still hit me. I was trapped!

     What looked like the caption came out onto the ship with a confused look on his face " what is going on here?" What did he not know was this not his plan? He bent down in front of me and what I saw in his eyes were kindness " um sir " I said as I bent my head. I gazed into his eyes and he back at me. He took his hand out from behind his back but it was not a hand attached to his sleeve, it was a hook which he used to untie me from the net. he scooped me up into his arms and said me Lady I looked at him and said "Luna" and he answered back "Gillian" and he tossed me back into the sea.

"I am a mermaid" I kept telling myself "you live under the sea I do not belong on land". "what are you muttering about Luna"? "Mother" I say "I I think I love him" "oh Luna sweet pumpkin darling who do you love?" I flick my hair over my eyes and I turn my head away and whisper "a pirate mother" "a pirate oh my" oh no my heart fluttered "I forbid you to ever speak to or see this pirate ever again" and with a flick of a tail my mother was gone. My heart sank like a rock to the bottom of the sea. I left and I did not plane on returning home any time soon.

       All I have to do is get legs and then I can become a pirate i kept reassuring my self.  I skidded to a stop there was  a  large brass door right in the middle of my path.

     I entered through the  door and all that i saw was a tube that looked like it lead some were to the surface. Yes I was scared.... 

    should i go? or not? I had convinced my self I had to go. " ANYWHERE IS BETTER THEN HERE" I shouted, I had to leave!
