Huh, well this plan went to shit quickly. I was stunned as it whipped around and slammed the butt of its rifle square into my gut. I flew back a good 5 feet. Instantly I wretched out what little was in my stomach. I couldn't breath, just fall back and wait for impending doom. It walked over and reached down to grab me. I could barely watch as I fought to keep from blacking out. It picked me up by the neck, I didn't struggle, I could barely breath much less move. I heard what I thought was a grunt and steam shot out of were it's mouth was. It threw me to the ground and that seemed to snap me back into reality. I reached for my pistol and raised my arm, weakly, and took aim. I squeezed the trigger and with a loud *bang* it went off. The bullet smashed the helmet but for the most part the helmet did its job, protect its user. The bullet bounced off and I soon found myself being thrown against a tree. I fell to the ground on my side and coughed out blood. I tried to raise my pistol again but it was quickly slapped out of my hand, nearly taking my hand with it. I looked up to see the headless thing looking down at me, I think. This confused me more as it didn't have a head, what was I supposed to think? It picked me up and threw me 50 feet away (probably more than that by a lot) I rolled and bounced on the ground for quite a few more feet. Then something just clicked inside me, that I was going to die, prompted by this realization I tried to sit up and snap out of it, I managed somehow. It was walking towards me and I reached over my shoulder to grab my rifle. As it realized I was reaching for something it sped up some. I pulled out my rifle and pointed the death end towards the thing. I tried to pull the trigger but it didn't move. What the shit? Wait that's not right, the safety! The safety is on, I fumbled with the gun trying to turn the safety off. The machine or whatever it was was running towards me now, and bloody fast at that. I found the safety and quickly flicked it off, I pointed the barrel in the general direction of it and pulled the trigger. The gun fired one round into it and the machine fell and barreled into me, not that that was necessary I had already nearly blacked out from the kickback. Though I guess it was a blessing that it hit me.
