Run

"RUN JACK! RUN!" I screamed at the top of my lungs and reaching my arms out, watching the horrified face of my little brother as the... thing chases him.

I've never felt so useless watching him struggle to climb up the empty cargo crates to get to where I am awaiting him anxiously.

With much struggle and hurriedness he makes it to the top and looks to the ground 20 stories down below.

A frozen panic look takes over his face as he hesitates only for a mere second but long enough for the beast to catch up and scratch down his back slowly and painfully.

"ADAM!"  Jack screeches causing the beast to be stunned.

"JUMP NOW!" I screech my voice breaking off from over usage.

Without any room for hesitation he flings himself off of the building coming to my open arms, just as the beast regains his awareness.

Our bodies go rocketing 2 feet back giving me road rash on my forearms, but I have no time to focus on it.

We sprint hand in hand into the artificial darkness of the night, beast's roar is the only sound that rings out...
