"Are you getting him a boutonnière? Is he getting you a boutonnière? Are you getting one for each other? What-"
"Mum," I laughed. "Calm down,"
"I'm sorry," she smiled. "I'm excited. My boys are going to prom,"
"It's just a dance, mum. No need to make a fuss out of it," PJ said, fixing his jacket. "And, if you're wondering, he got Phil a lily boutonnière,"
"Oh, how cute!" mum yelled, helping us with our bow ties. "I bet he got you a rose,"
"I'm sure he did," I blushed.
"You boys look so handsome,"
"Thanks," PJ and I beamed.
"Are you guys ready to go? Your dates will be here any minute,"
"Yeah, I just need to straighten my hair,"
"Alright, just meet us downstairs when your done,"
"M'kay," I mumbled, headed into the bathroom.

I closed the door and started searching for my straightener. I opened the drawer it normally sits in, and it wasn't there. My face fell and I dug through the rest of the drawers and cabinets in the bathroom. After searching every possible place in the room, I ran into the lounge.

"Where is my straighter!" I yelled. "Adrian, where the fuck is it?" I growled.
"I dunno," he smirked.
"Look here you little shit," I started. "Tell me where you hid it, or I swear to god, I will murder you!"
"Dan, stop threatening your brother," dad mumbled. "Why do you even need to straighten your hair? You look fine,"
"You don't understand," I whined. "I hate it when my hair is curly..."
"Doesn't Phil love your curly hair?" PJ asked.
"I don't know..."
"Dan, why straighten it when your gonna get sweaty, and it's gonna curl again in an hour?"
"Pictures," I said.
"Whatever. Ade, go get the straightener so Dan stops complaining,"
"Fine," Adrian sighed.

He walked upstairs, and headed for his room, so he could grab my straightener. He walked down, a few minutes later, with a smug smile on his face, and straightener in hand.

"Here," he said.
"Thanks," I mumbled, snatching it from his hand.

I walked into the downstairs bathroom, plugged it in, and waited for it to heat up. As soon as the red light turned green, the doorbell rang. I let out a small whine, unplugged it, and joined everyone in the living room.

"What a shame," Adrian teased.
"Shut up," I grumbled.

Mum let out a chuckle as she opened the door. She cracked a smile as she saw a well dressed Chris and Phil.

"You boys clean up nice," she said.
"Thank you," they mumbled, walking in.
"Look how handsome you are," Chris said, planting a kiss on PJ's cheek.
"You don't look too bad yourself," PJ teased. "Hey James," PJ called.
"Yeah?" dad asked.
"Would you mind grabbing the boutonnière from the fridge?"
"Oh, yeah, sure," he shrugged.
"Wow..." Phil whispered, staring at me.
"I didn't have time to straighten my hair..."
"I love it,"
"I look hideous,"
"Are you serious?" he asked. "I don't think you've ever looked more beautiful,"
"Oh, shut up," I scoffed.
"I'm serious! I love it when you don't straighten your hair,"
"Why haven't you ever said anything before?"
"Because I know how much you like it straightened," he said. "Oh, I also got you a boutonnière," he beamed. "A red rose,"
"My favorite," I beamed. "Thank you. I love it," I said as he pinned it to my jacket.
"Here y'go," dad said, handing me the slightly chilled box.
"Thanks," I mumbled. "I got you a lily..."
"I love it," he whispered, as I pinned it on.
"I love you," I said as I kissed him.
"I love you too,"
"Okay, come on everyone. Pictures!" mum cheered. "Dan, Phil, I want you guys first. Come on, everyone outside, in front of the house,"
"You're so embarrassing," I whined.
"That's my job, sweetie," she smiled. "Okay, Dan and Phil, get on the porch. Come on, let's go,"

Phil and I rolled our eyes as we did the classic, awkward prom photo, pose. Mum just yelled as us and told us to look cute. Eventually, we gave in, and Phil held me close, as he rested his chin on my head. I held his hands at my side as I looked to my left and smiled at my silly boyfriend. Without my consent, mum snapped as few photos; she even got one of us kissing.

Chris and PJ went next. They didn't want to fight mum on the whole picture situation, so they just placed their arms on each other's backs, and smiled. When mum and dad took all the pictures they wanted, we all piled into Phil's car.

Phil handed me his phone, so I could choose the music; I gladly obliged. I hit the shuffle button and just waited to see what would pop up.

I just wanna stay in the sun where I find, I know, it's hard, sometimes...

"Hell yeah!" Chris cheered.
"Dude, take it down a notch," PJ chuckled.
"Oh please, you love me,"
"Yes I do,"
"I love you, Phil," I announced in a stupid voice.
"What the hell was that?" Phil chuckled, tongue poking out of the side of his mouth.
"Me declaring my love for you,"
"You're an idiot," he smirked.

"I'd die for you," that's easy to say
We have a list of people that we would take...

"A bullet for them. A bullet for you. A bullet for everybody in this room,"
"Dude, chill," I laughed.
"But-"
"Chris!" we all yelled.
"Take it down a notch," PJ whispered. "Save that energy for tonight."
"Ew," I laughed.
"Oh, come on! Don't act like you didn't have the same thing I mind, for tonight," Phil teased.
"Ew," PJ said, in a mocking voice.
"Go fuck yourself," I said.
"Don't make me turn this car around. I swear to god," Phil warned.
"Jeez, sorry dad," Chris joked.
"Yeah, daddy," PJ smirked.
"I will fucking fight you!" I spat.
"I'd like to see you try."
